I’m surprised with that news

Hi there,

Me and my husband sent our removal of condition packet a few days ago. It was sent on the 9th, delivered on the 12th, we received the text a few days after and the check was cashed too. Now, I just got a notification today that our case is being actively reviewed. How common is this and what does that mean? Is it a good or bad news?

Believe me, I am aware that with this message won’t tell me how long it’s take.. but I’m curious to know how common it it and if it means they are reviewing our application already?

Thanks for your help

Very common

It’s meaningless. A misleading statement that bears no significance

Meaningless.  Processing could be a few weeks or a few years.  That's the reality.

If you go to the tracking site https://www.casestatusext.com/form_info/I-751 and sort by "# of cases", you will find there are currently close to 1.3 million I-751's with a status of "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS". It is by far the most common I-751 status monitored.  It apparently means everything seems "normal" just like all the other cases..

Essentially, this status means the opposite to what it says 😃

With my wife, her status changed from "Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Sent" to "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" about 4 hours after she completed her biometrics appointment.  So there is a strong correlation and almost certain causation of the data entry of the biometrics being the "active review" in her particular case.

My understanding is, it's a "filler" status between biometrics taken and next action such as RFE, interview notice or approval. This gap may last many months. So I don't believe in "actively" part of the status. In reality the case sits on the shelf for months before getting adjudicated in 15-30 mins by IO when the time comes.

Computer generated messages when info is received and fed to a computer

1st is received the case is received

2nd USICS office has the case and it is now in a computer

Many members are able to file N400 before I 751 is even really reviewed

things that can happen"   Notices of

RFE for more info

OR

Case is being sent to another office (hopefully this is to combined the I 751 when u file N400 )

but in some cases its for # of cases in 1 office and overload

What happens when a case is transferred and a new office has jurisdiction?

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) case status “Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction” means that USCIS moved your case to a different service center or field office. The new office will continue processing your case from there.Feb 6, 2023

worked on during these holidays??
this time of year not only do officers have numerous days off scheduled but many are told if "you have vacation time ,  take it or loose it as it doesn't carry thru to next year"

Immigration is  a "hurry up and wait and wait and wait " process for any petition so don't look day to day or week to week or even month to month for an update.  Instead enjoy your days and get immigration out of daily worries

BTW the N400 appears to be the fastest of any of these petitions
Best to u both

It looks like standard operating procedure for USCIS in this type of event.  In the end you know that they received your request and just want until they actually contact you with meaningful and actionable information.
