Hi folks,

I am sure there is a post about this somewhere lingering on this forum about this topic. I am looking for a post where someone has detailed AOS from B1/B2 for parents and has all the checklist docs as well as steps. I have the USCIS resource page on I-485 with instructions and am familiar with it. I would appreciate if anyone can point me to the above mentioned post.

- I know insurance is expensive and have means to pay for it

- circumstances changed as we need a caregiver for our newborn and job changed caused us to lose parental leave

thanks ahead of time.

The instructions for AOS would be 99% the same be it a marriage case or sponsorship for parents.

You need to file I-130, I-485 and all other forms as guide for AOS suggests.

Yep. I plan on filing 130, 485, 765, 131 and 864. Aware of the medical. I just wanted to know if there is a very detailed post to ensure I don't miss any details. I did my original CG application myself but that was some 6 years ago.

I would stat by reading the Guide and then ask if there is anything you do not understand.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Where are your parent now? Also, are they aware that they won't be able to go back home for many months?

They in the US but only one will stay. They are aware of the restrictions and rules. I will also request advance parole just in case if emergency travel is needed. Those usually come between 3-6 month of application submission.

They do but can also come much later. My spouse got her 10 months after AOS filed…
