i tried posting in off topic and i was really unsure if members were aware of cheaper air tickets n sites from india

so i needed some help any online sites or travel agents or any flights which are reasonable from new delhi to jfk

there are no cheap tickets available online if you are booking your tickets a week or a fortnight in advance, so try with the travel agents , you might get a better deal from them.

you can get cheap tickets onlline if it is an advanced booking atleast a month or a two in advance.

this is just my experience , may vary form person to person

Try farechase.yahoo.com or www.kayak.com These sites will find best online rates.

Also try www.Etihad.com It is a new airline. Finding good rate online is too keep looking repeatedly.

I searched a number of online sites including kayak, orbitz and expedia, and my husband tried travel agents in India. We found the cheapest flight on Makemytrip.com, I chatted with a rep online and he finalized everything perfectly.

Of course, day by day, moment by moment, different sites have different deals so search around!

Another aspect people not too many people know about for international flights, check with a travel agent for CONSOLIDATOR tickets, mostly they have a certain number of tickets given by the airlines, you can get some cheap deals, specially if it's booked from India, most of the time it's cheaper if you get your tickets from India as you'll be charge in Rupees. Air India had a special from India to Newark, and JFK i am not sure if it's still running. Good luck
