IR-1 visa tracking

My husband just arrived in the US with his IR-1 visa and we want to track his green card and social security (when they will arrive). Everything we see online says to use the USCIS info/login to find the tracking number but it says our case was closed upon approval of the I-130. Is there something we’re missing?

Have you paid the immigrant fee?

There should be tracking instructions from when you paid the fee.  I am not aware of a method to track SSN

We paid about 4 months before he arrived so i dont know if that’s the issue. Unfortunately everything ive been seeing says log into uscis but our case was closed long ago when we finished the I-130

You just need to use the receipt number from when you paid the IV fee to track the GC, using the same case tracking webpage.  https://egov.uscis.gov

No way of tracking the SSN.

Amazing, thank you. We found it and it showed a general message that it should arrive within 90 days from arrival into the country. I assume that’s as good as we’ll get in terms of tracking?

No, you’ll get the actual tracking number when it’s despatched, but also other updates - things like ‘we’ve ordered your card to be produced’, ‘your card has been produced’, ‘your card has been sent’ etc.

Does it say something about payment being received? That’s the status that should show until it’s being produced but if he’s only just arrived maybe it’s too soon for that.

I’d also highly recommend you sign up to Informed Delivery if you don’t have it already, it’ll show up as Special Delivery from USCIS.
