Hello Houston!

Anybody else that underwent the Oath ceremony recently in Houston?

I passed the N400 interview for Naturalization on May 9th and I am still in line waiting for the Oath ceremony to be scheduled...this wait seems never-ending and nerve-wrecking..

Thanks!

Stats here for Houston. 3 months is the quickest that I can see, you may be lucky since you applied this year and the office is trying to get through the backload. Personally I applied right at the start of lockdown and waited 14 months for my interview. Friend applied in May 2020 and just got through her oath two weekends ago

Oh man. Seems like people who applied during covid waited a long time and people who applied in the last year are getting theirs around 5 months based on the timelimes. Fingers crossed!

Ah that's not too bad! Definitely looks like it just varies and depends on luck

I filed on Feb 21 under 5 year rule.

I filed late August 2021- interviewed Jan 12 and took the oath on April 13.  When I passed the interview I thought that in 2 weeks the oath ceremony would be scheduled but I waited a good two months (a little over) to receive my oath ceremony date.  Seems there’s a bit of backlog to get everyone properly sworn in, on April 13th we were told that it was the first in person oath ceremony since covid….the crowd was massive.

03/11/16 - Engaged!

09/27/16 – Interview Date – Approved

10/13/16 – POE Houston

12/22/16 - HAPPILY MARRIED!!!!

01/09/17 - AOS/EAD/AP filed

01/23/17 - NOA1 texts and emails received

01/27/17 - NOA1 hardcopies received

02/11/17 - Biometrics appointment letter received

02/21/17 - Biometrics appointment

04/17/17 - EAD status changed to New Card Being Produced

04/21/17 - NOA2 hardcopies for EAD and AP received

04/26/17 - EAD/AP combo card received

05/26/17 - RFE Received (I-485)

06/12/17 - RFE Response Received at Houston Field office

06/22/17 - I-485 approved, Card being produced

06/29/17 - Hardcopy I-485  approval notice received

07/01/17 - Greencard in hand

Don't let them kid you. They've been doing in person oaths since at least May 2021

It shouldnt take more than 30 days.

I believe this is what happened

since they went back to normal(pre-pandemic), they are pooling more people to take oath in bigger groups with less frequency. Back in January, they were groups of 20-30 people everyday. I know this because I asked the officer that interviewed me. They used to do less oath events prior to the pandemic…but now you have way more people applying and more backlogged cases…

what’s ironic is that they are interviewing way more people
