I just finished my interview today, it was super easy and since it was on a Friday, there wasnt people in front of me or a line. It took 15 minutes the entire process. 

Below are my timelines.

I am now waiting for the Oath Date notice.

Hopefully you will be scheduling within next 2 months. I know we got notice on  April 7th and got  Oath letter date on May 19th for a July 8th ceremony. This was last year.

I was hoping for it to be faster like 1 month. I hope to get a passport faster than a month at least as I may  travel in January.

we were surprised to get passport in 3 weeks. And the Social Security updating took about 45 days.

I applied on Feb 2nd 2021 and still waiting for the interview at Houston office.

Hey just dropping by here after reading through.

for name change I really don’t know it really depends on your state and the court your name change was sent to be sign by a judge.

 

I did my interview in October did a middle and last name change, and expedite the process I got the oath ceremony notification to be in line I’m just waiting for a day. All this slow process is based entirely on the Covid virus shutting down things. Let me know when you hear something relating to your case. Good luck ☺️

I remember that I asked whether it was longer if one requests a name change, the officer said it is the same.

Is it 2 weeks after the update below  that I will get the letter for Oath ceremony usually?

I hope the ceremony is this year 😅

I believe you can call them and send them a request as it’s been more than 30 days.

Hi everyone - I just got an email that an interview was scheduled!!  I only applied online on Aug 30th so that was a big surprise.  It said that the interview notice would be mailed to me - I assume the date would be on there.  Does anyone know how long the interview usually is from the time the notice is sent?  Just need to know how long I have to study!!  I wasnt expecting anything to come thru so quickly so I havent even started studying….so right now im excited but also kind of freaking out.  Help!!

The interview letter will be under the "documents" tab in your online account, either today or tomorrow. You just need to listen to a youtube video where they repeat the questions and answers, over and over for like 2 hours, then you're all set for the civics test. So you have plenty of time, unless your interview is this afternoon. 😆 The youtube videos are awesome, makes studying so easy. I listened while working.

You were right.  The letter was there.  My interview is on January 12th!!  Can you share the link you are referring to?  I ordered a book to read and study but I'll also follow up with the youtube videos (Im a perfectionist)!! lol  And just so I'm clear - should I be also taking copies of utility bills etc with both our names on it just to prove we still live together?  Thanks everyone!
