Sorry to hear that. I guess I managed to get through before they shut the door. The SSA office can't reopen fast enough.

Aaaa no issue. 610 shut me off again They reiterated that the office does not schedule appointment for this. Then they went ahead and doubled down by telling me that they do not even serve my zipcode and that I should call 290. I have called 290 twice, they hanged up both twice. I am trying for the 3rd time

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

290 could not get through for the 3rd time. It just hanged up.

I got through this morning to the Stancliff Rd office and they told me to mail it in. “We’ll send back your evidence within 60 days”!!

Instead, I made an online appointment at the Texas DPS to update my driver license and completed that.

My naturalization certificate hasn’t been returned from my passport application so will wait for that to come back before thinking about a new SSA strategy.

Houston SSO are just here to frustrate people.

What's there to update at the DMV?

There isn't a real need to update driver license until you are close to having to renew the drivers license or need a name change.

Previously my license was based on me being a LPR, now it is based on me being a US Citizen and I can now renew the next time online as opposed to in person.

April of this year 😄

You’re probably correct.

i applied March last year then, because I knew it would be at least a year, I switched off checking my USCIS account. Wasn’t even notified by the system that biometrics were being re-used back this February and didn’t know until I got the letter in the mail. Only started checking my account on a weekly basis after receiving that particular letter. Don’t get too miffed if you see folks getting their interview notice before you. Certainly hard to ignore.

good luck
