We were told that they wanted to discuss the interview schedule with my wife directly, since we are an active duty military family.

Wait, did her N400 interview letter state that you are also required to attend? As far as I know, during COVID, USCIS does not want extra bodies and as such, only the interviewee is called in.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

So I called around and did some shopping and was told that even expedited PP is currently hitting 8 to 10 weeks.

Anyway for those who have already had oath in Houston and applied for PP:

1. How does PP application go after oath ceremony? Can you just walk to the downtown office and apply and even possibly have it immediately expedited if you have upcoming trip or you need to make an appointment like everyone else? OR

2. You can apply for PP right there and there at the oath place?

3. Did anyone here get PP expedited? If so, how long was the expedite?

Did you find any more info regarding this?

I was really hoping the process after interview could be done in 2+2 weeks (oath + expedited process) but it seems impossible rn. Haven't received interview notice even.

1. How does PP application go after oath ceremony? Can you just walk to the downtown office and apply and even possibly have it immediately expedited if you have upcoming trip or you need to make an appointment like everyone else? OR No. You cannot walk to downtown office. You need an appointment. The appointments are emergency based or if you have urgent flight (72hrs) to catch. Getting an appointment at downtown is hard. I here Dallas is allowing walk-ins

2. You can apply for PP right there and there at the oath place? No idea

3. Did anyone here get PP expedited? If so, how long was the expedite? Expedites are currently taking 8 -10 weeks. So if you do not have any travel urgency, go online on USPS website NOW, book an appointment so that once you are done with oath, you can schedule your PP. Last I checked, USPS appointments are 2 months out. So it is best to book one now since you do not even have interview yet. If you have urgency after oath, resort to (1) above

Initially I couldn't get my way around the date for my interview but after i request for reschedule I found an alternative and I will be available on that day. I do not have new date for reschedule yet and i heard it takes months to fix. So, Can i appear for my interview on my original interview date?

Can you explain a bit more. Did you reschedule your interview somehow?

Not sure how this would play but I'm sure the letter will make its way to USCIS.

Alternatively, you can just show up with original appointment and don't say anything unless asked.

N400 interview done and approved in Houston. I was done within 5 mins. I was in the IO office for 15 mins total as she typed, interviewed, ask questions went through those "would you be willing to bare arms for US questions - I think they were 6 or something."

Walked in. She only asked for my ID, PP, GC. Next thing she asked if I've been out more than 6 months within the last 5 years. I stood and then raised hand for oath. Sat down. She told me she will do written test and for me to look at iPad and read it. "What day is Columbus day?". Then told me to write " Columbus day is in October."

Then the 6/10 questions:

1. Who is the VP? Question 29 on booklet

2. What role is reserved for Federal Government? Question 41

3. Ocean on the West Coast? Question 89

4. Governor of State? Question 43

5. Capital of US? Question 94

6. Name of the National Anthem? Question 98

She then told me "I'll approve you." Interview done.

I had like less than 70 pages of print. 25 were just quarterly new bank statements from filing to now and the rest was just reprint of what I submitted, just incase IO decides to play game (joking). Anyway, she only ended up asking for GC, ID and PP as I initially said. Nothing was looked at on my 70 pages. I was like...man, why did I print all these?

Anyway, IO was super nice. We just chatted then left. Total 15 mins. Interview was 3:05pm, was called in at 3:10pm, was out and at the parking lot at 3:25pm..

Part of that 15 mins was me also pushing her buttons to try and wiggle my way into an earlier oath. Unfortunately, Houston is something else. Anyway, couldn't get early oath, no matter how hard I tried.

I'm not in a hurry. I'll let oath come whenever it comes.

And my interview notice did not ask for a spouse to come. I filed under 3 year rule. So I followed what it said and went alone. I was only asked if were still married and what she does as a profession.

Houston is something else. I spent 5 mins doing my best to wiggle into earlier oath but it was not possible. She said she doesn't know when the next one will be. Anyway, since she had interviewed and approved me within less than 5 mins, I was like "Lemme just leave this sweet lady alone."

She was really nice. I checked my account today and did not see any notice, probably because my oath is being held back as we agreed. But she did tell me "I'll approve you." and gave me that approval paper. So if I was not going for vacation, I might have already been receiving notices for oath etc in my account.
