Would you believe it? My one month vacation flight was today at 4pm.

I was out all weekend and got home at 10 pm yesterday. Went to mailbox...interview notice 4 days before I come back🤦🏽‍♂️

The choice here is simple. I'll have to reschedule flight and chill for another 3 weeks. As of 6pm yesterday, I had even checked in. Thank goodness I visited the mailbox or else it would have been disastrous.

Case completion jumped to 13 month now 😅. Just FYI for those who follow that thread.

There is a spreadsheet for those who filed in July 2020. It is on July 2020 thread. Feel free to visit it below.

Fill time-line, people

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

USCIS re-used previously captured biometrics. I got the letter for re-use on the 19th of February, 2021.

Ah, thought you meant VJ timeline. Most people look at those to get info, you'll reach out to more people using that one than a spread sheet. 👍

Finally done! Oath ceremony was earlier this afternoon. The guards let us into the building 10 minutes before the scheduled start of the proceedings and where our documents were checked before being assigned a seat in the main conference room. The official presiding over the oath told us that we were lucky in that during "normal times" there would be 5,000-6,000 of us together with friends and family and we could expect to spend up to 6 hours going through the process but today we would be in and out within 30 minutes.

Not sure who was lucky but either way, I have a certificate in my hand.

First thing I did was to scan my certificate to my laptop and sign my voter registration. We've managed to get an appointment with the USPS for this coming Thursday so I guess I will be hanging out in the " Passports, etc. - What to do now that you are a US citizen" forum from now on. Now that citizenship is over, I need something else to be worrying about.

Good luck to all of you about to start their application or are in the middle of waiting! Your time will come!

Lang may yer lum reek (I wish you good luck and good fortune in your future) and Slàinte Mhath (cheers)

Congrats on your journey completion!

I had my biometrics done today. Entered building about 20mins before the due time and was out within 15 minutes.

One thing that kinda worried me was, some of the prints taken showed in Yellow with a warning triangle for some fingers but other showed with green outlines. I guess it was matching my prints to my earlier prints from a few years ago. Saw the success message at the end and the officer who took the prints said it was fine (he said it was just that my fingers were sweating a bit much) but just something I wanted to share in case anyone saw a similar behavior.

Anyone knows what days of the week Houston does Oath Ceremonies? I see @El Escocés went Tuesday. So I guess Tuesdays is one of the days. I am trying to see if I can wiggle my way to Oath Ceremony on the day I go in. I am scheduled for a Thursday.

@El Escocés what time exactly was the ceremony slated for?

1pm. during my interview the AO mentioned there are 3 days of oaths per week and multiple oaths per afternoon. When we were leaving there was another group coming into the driving lot who were maybe there for their oath ceremony.

Good luck

You know which 3 days?

My interview is at 3pm. Maybe I could squeeze in on the last one or the next available. I am due to fly for vacation shortly afterwards.
