Congrats on the interview notification.

Did you file just N400 separately?

I guess my interview is still a couple weeks off since I filed in May 2020 but I'm worried as I've never received any biometric notification or any updates since the original 'We have received your n400 form' back in may of last year.

In fact I just logged in and it seems USCIS has updated their website a bit. It now mentions something about biometrics but I don't see any new documents so I believe it just says Biometrics will be next

I applied on basis of 3 years marriage but I have a 10 year GC so only the N400 applied for.

I had heard nothing until February 19th that they were reusing my biometrics then almost 6-7 weeks later received the interview notification.

Aaaggghhh - this is getting beyond frustrating.  Can someone shine a light on what is going on with oath ceremonies in Houston?  Did anyone have an oath ceremony in the last two months?

I had my interview on December 4th, was invited for the oath ceremony on Dec 19 which I had to cancel due to passing of my mother, got a new invitation for the oath ceremony on Jan 22.  This ceremony got cancelled last minute and I have been waiting for a new invitation since....  Now my uscis.gov account shows next milestone not "oath ceremony" but "receive your case decision".  I have tried calling so many times but never get through and I have also sent messages through the uscis account, but learn nothing from the replies.  Thanks

I'm attending mine tomorrow at USCIS office. There was also one at USCIS office on the day I had my interview (Feb 11, 2021).

I just came back from my ceremony. It was a ceremony exclusively for people who requested name change. It was an administrative ceremony in every sense. There was no judge in person or video call. Yet, everyone received their court name change order along with their certificate. I hope this info will be useful if you are thinking about name change but hesitant due to covid.

Update: My interview is scheduled for April 16.

Interview Update: I attended my interview today (04/16/2021) and got approved. The interview was scheduled for 9.35 a.m. but I arrived early and checked in at 9 a.m. The Officer called me in by 9.15 a.m. and I was done by 9.25 a.m. He checked my interview letter, confirmed my fingerprints (left and right index fingers), checked my green card, took my picture, and proceeded with the civics portion of the exam.

Civics questions asked:

  1. Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?
  2. Why did the colonists fight the British?
  3. What are the two parts of the U.S. Congress?
  4. Who did the United States fight in World War II?
  5. What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States?
  6. We elect a President for how many years?

Reading and Writing Portion:

  • Question: What do we pay to the government?
  • Written Answer: We pay taxes.

I was asked about my work, and we chatted briefly about it. He then asked me to confirm my name was spelled correctly and directed me to sign my N-400 form. I also signed to confirm my details to be shown on the naturalization certificate.

After I'd signed, he told me he was approving my application, gave me a copy of the approval form, and told me to look out for my oath ceremony notice between 30 and 60 days. And that was it.

It was a straightforward experience, and I'm thankful for everything.

My USCIS account status shows: "Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled." I'll update again when I get my oath ceremony date.

Best wishes to everyone on this journey. ☺️
