Thank you so much, Dwheels76!  So just to make sure I understand it correctly; you are saying that people that had their interview date on/before April 1st have received a new interview date.  Is that correct?  Do you know what approximately these new interview dates for the people that got rescheduled?  Given that my old interview date was April 14, I guess I should hear something in the next two weeks if not sooner..

Also after an interview, can I expect an oath within a month in Houston?  What I really want to know, can I vote in November...

No what i been following is the dates of cancelled previous Oaths. They are scheduling the April 1st oath folks now. I believe that was the last Oath date that was scheduled before COVID because that was many people with March Interview Dates.

At the rate of how they are doing oaths in Houston we are looking at about 300 to 400 people a day 4 times a week. Just for a visual the last Oath done March 9th there were 5009 in Houston. Most Oaths here are usually in the 2000 to 3500 range. So who knows how many were in those 3 Oaths that were canceled lets just say 15,000.

I did read yesterday that USCIS says they expect that all oaths that are to be rescheduled they expect  to be done by end of July. I know Houston has already started scheduling March approvals for July Oaths. These are folks who never got their oath dates. So we really are moving along quickly.

And no you can;t expect an Oath after a month. That was pre-COVID. Right now the scheduling is fast and swift you could be notified with 1 to 2 week warning.

The thing is Houston office didn't open June 4th and still isn't even open. Will you get interview and Oath by October 1st so you can vote? My opinion no I don't think that's going to happen. Houston is talking about another lockdown and the office is still closed.

This is really good data. Thanks for the info.   I’m hoping I get my notice in the next few weeks.

Yes - I wouldn’t plan on voting this year unless you are already had an interview.  Remember you need to get your registration in 30 days before the election so you have under 4 months for them to finish outstanding oaths, open the office, book your interview, conduct the interview, get full approval, book your oath and attend your oath.

I’m not saying it’s impossible; a few will could definitely make it.   Dallas is already at the stage where they are sending interview notices.

Actually I think you right I think the person who said Oat March 28th was their interview date. We are lucky only two to get through can;t imagine though how many thousands that is.

Then's theirs the lawsuit going on against USCIS that they feel they are withholding citizenship and demanding the offices do virtual and start scheduling interviews. Have no idea why they think they can force them to do that.

I know they trying to keep these intimate. Why don;t know I mean they use to be in huge auditoriums. I say open up Rice stadium or NRG or Minute Maid hell you could do it all in one show. Why they dragging this out. this 10, 20, 30 at a time I truly do not understand at all. My friends son had his graduation in Dallas  on Sunday at the Baseball Stadium guest students distancing the kids got to do their walk get diplomas and families got to celebrate. Why they got to make this so frustrating.
And what happens when the furloughs start in August.

Why they are keeping the naturalization ceremonies intimate ? Have you heard of coronavirus ? I know it sucks for all of us to have to wait but frankly it's in everyone's best interest.

Not sure if renting a stadium would really be effective here as takes weeks of planning and A LOT of staff.  Cutting it short to 15 mins and doing a few 100 a day honestly seems a lot faster, with a lower resource load, then organizing an event for 10,000 plus people. In fact Dallas is doing the oaths the same week as the interview so it’s actually faster to get an oath post covid once they open.

as far as interviews go, your delayed only a few months follow a global pandemic...
