I need to post a timeline but I'm definitely an outlier.. so my timeline may not be of use.

My i751 took 5 years, had no movement, no updates other than 'transfered to XXX service center'. After constant service requests I finally recieved i751 interview and N400 interview notices in the same week! Different interviews though, not combined.

Both approved on the day of interview, no explanation as to why my i751 was waaay out of processing times.

N400 was way quicker. Applied June 2019 and will have my oath in March!

Not going to complain though. I know it's hard, and I've been dealing with stalled paperwork for 5 years which was mentally tough and hard to handle. Finally got both knocked out and now just looking forward to the final hurdle and attending the oath!

My best advice to anyone is just to have faith in the process, USCIS are just backlogged (especially Houston) and stuff slips through the cracks all the time.

Woah! What do you think caused the 5 year delay? What did you do during the 5 years to try to get your i751 processed?

No idea why it took so long.

As I followed progress on here all I can assume is that when I applied for N400 it put my processing time to the N400 one which was longer than i751 so I lost my place in line for i751.

I just put in service request after service request.

That’s terrible. I’m happy for you that you’re done now! I asked because a friend of mine had his n400 interview in August and his i751 is also still pending. They also can’t get any answers to what is going on and are not seeing any movement.

Yeah, I waited 3 years for my i751 which was within processing times so I couldnt do anything. Then when I filed my N400 I think it basically reset the clock and put me at the end of the line again.

I have no idea though, I'm just glad it's almost all finished now.

They should write the ombudsmen and consider filing with the district court if it has been over 120 since interview
