Came here to check people's processing times. I just filed online on 06/17 and my estimated processing time is 25 months (sigh). My status is "received". I hope they schedule the biometrics soon before I travel out of town in mid July. What has been your experience in regard to waiting time from NOA to biometrics letter?

It took 10 days for the biometrics appt. letter to appear online. It takes a bit longer to receive the notice with the appt. date through mail, but you can just print the one online and research if your ASC takes early walk ins. The date I was able to view my biometrics appt letter online was May 14th and the date for the appt. was May 31st. I did an early walk in with no issues.

My wife is officially a USC!! can someone update the info on the tracker? i couldn't update it to highlight in RED.  Her oath cermony was yesterday 6/20 and was a looooong day.

Well, the Biometrics letter appears now online and they did schedule it during the time I will be out of town. I guess I will try to walk in and see if they want to do it. I know you had a good experience with this, which office did you visit? Mine is the one on the Hwy 6.

I just checked the number of pending N-400 applications in the Houston Field Office. As of December 31, 2017, there were 37,846 cases pending. It was 23,090 cases back in December 31, 2016. Services have slowed down drastically.

I did a walk-in at Hwy 6 ASC. It was smooth. I went around 1:30 pm. She did ask me the reason for the walk-in.

Based on the research in the forum I have done, it seems in average cases process to close within about 9 to 10 month.

As far as I know they work the cases in the order received.

 

However, it would not surprise me that "more complex" cases need more seasoned employees to be handled, and thereby easy cases can be handled by anyone and process faster.

Given that I got married 8 years ago and had my green card for 7(?) years, filled online and included ALL required documents, I would think my case was as easy and straight forward as they come.

 

If you filed in Houston (processing time is office specific), you should expect some feedback in 2-4 month. up to 4 month, due to the fact that the backlog of cases is growing and I would expect processing time to grow accordingly.

I passed my interview on 6/12, but have not heard anything regarding the oath ceremony.

Based on the research in the forum I have done, it seems in average cases process to close within about 9 to 10 month.

Timf79 - I walked in today (Jul 3, 2018) and got biometrics completed.   It was originally scheduled for Jul 9.  Also, my completion timeline went down to 22 months (May, 2020) from 25 (Jul, 2020) months this morning.  Hope I get through the process this year and I do not want to wait until 2020 to be naturalized.
