The US ceremonies, at least here in Houston, aren't that special.  It feels like a cattle herding session versus what I've experienced in Canada where it was a much more serious and impactful ceremony.

I think it’s because Houston is one of the most busiest FO in USA. There are many applications here compare to other FO. Also, USA has way more people attempting to Naturalize compare to Canada so they have to focus on other areas than the Oath ceremony.

Actually, no.  Relatively speaking, Canada, by percentage, had more people naturalize last year than the US.

Curious. Why did you wait for 5 years and not applied after 3 if it was based on marriage?

Because my green card is not thru marriage. I got green card thru employment and i have to wait 5 years to apply for citizenship.

only marriage related Greencard applicants can apply under 3 years eligibility.

Oh ok. Unless your wife was a USC after 3 years then you could apply for it.

My lawyer mailed my application on 11/28/23. This was the first day I qualified under the 90 day early filing rule.

NOA: 12/1/23, We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice.

12/6/23: Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS.

I use the Case Tracker app and website. I also use Lawfully app for more details like timeline compared to others.

Also, should I be following this thread or the December 2023 thread?

Estimated time* until case decision:

approx. 7 months

*These completion projections are based on case processing for applicants who have been lawful permanent residents for at least 5 years. For all other applicants, completion projections may vary.
Is anyone filing here not based on marriage and 5 years?
What response should I getting next and when?

Are we allowed to pick a day/time for the interview? Or reschedule? Does it look bad if we do?

How long does it normally take on average? Can we attend the Oath ceremony right after if approved? How long is that ceremony in Houston FO?

Can we apply for U.S Passport and register to vote after the ceremony?
