I’ll apply soon in late November. How long is it taking to get a decision? Are they making it faster due to elections so we can vote?

We will send petition also most likely late November, just awaiting the registration of his new truck from the dealership,  its in both our names along with my 2022 auto.

We are not using a lawyer, don't need to.    Husband got his green card 4 years ago.

Looks like will send off petition by end of week or first of next week, car dealership called, our plates-registration are in. That is all we were waiting on , one more piece of evidence.

We had a hard ride for my husbands 10 green card, but managed it without an attorney.

We had red flags,  me- previous marriage to foreign national who I filed marriage visa for, and then cancelled it, age difference, &

had a Stokes interview, which truly lasted about 2 minutes for him and for me.

Was issued a NOID,   we provided the evidence they requested, and finally was approved after nearly 3 years.

I suspect this final go around will be easier, as we are more than prepared to show continuing marriage since 10 green card was issued.

Is it worth the risk? Lawyer can always speak during the interview.

We don't need to Lawyer UP.  Hard part was obtaining the 10 year green.

This time it is all about HIM.

Correct.  No spouses allowed inside.  Only those taking the Oath and receiving their naturalization certificates are allowed.

Ugh,  that really stinks.

The US ceremonies, at least here in Houston, aren't that special.  It feels like a cattle herding session versus what I've experienced in Canada where it was a much more serious and impactful ceremony.

Not sure. Quick google search says Canada naturalized 375,000 people in 2022 (unusually high number - usually numbers are about 175,000) while the US naturalized 967, 500 people, which appears to be a bit above average for the US as well.
