Hearty congratulations👏👏!  Sounds like it was straight forward! Did he indicate when the oath ceremony is likely to be scheduled?

Thanks!

He said within a couple of months. He didn’t actually seem to know, just like he didn’t seem to realize (or chose not to acknowledge) that Houston is pushing people through pretty quickly.

The reason I ask-  there are at least four ppl who have cleared interview between Mar 15-31st (Houston), status changed to oath will be scheduled and still no signs.

Completely fair and I'm curious myself because there is a LOT if international travel supposed to happen in my near future. This will determine if we roll with it, as scheduled, or have to reschedule.

The only thing the strange man said was to pay attention to which location the Oath Ceremony will be at because they are still doing some ceremonies at the Gears Road location where the interviews are done and also at the one high school where the large ceremonies are traditionally held.

The strange man is correct :). From what I read, weekday ceremonies are at Gears Road and the big ones with > 500-1000, happen on Saturdays at Campbell Education center,  just on the other side of the freeway.

Hubs did his at Campbell back in 2019.  So, we'll see I guess.  I'll keep the tread posted when I get my notice!

My wife and I had our interview today. We were both slotted at for the same time, but interviewed by different IO.

We are applying as 5 years GC holder (employment based )

After the usual process of biometric and waiting, I went in first. Officer just wanted to see my letter, state ID, GC and passport. Civic test, reading writing  were completed -all easy peasy. Moved on to N400 form - verified name address date of birth marriage children etc. After few yes no Qs, made me sign the oath of allegiance on ipad. All very positive so far!

He printed the letter and as he was ready to approve, the system was not allowing him to approve and would just hang. He tried multiple times and he couldn't complete the approval process. Apparently this is a common occurrence especially for afternoon interviews in Houston (per IO, by the time it is afternoon, EST, CST and PST offices are in full swing and system performance can degrade significantly). End result checked on passed the test but a decision cannot be made at this time

He said, there is no need to worry, his supervisor will have to do a review and will get approved in a day or two and then he should be able to update in the system.

I came out, and my wife was still waiting to be called.  She got called within five mins, by another IO. The IO asked for letter, GC and State ID and no passport. Interview was cake walk, personal information verification and few yes no Qs, signed oath of allegiance. And same thing repeated for her as well - IO was not able to mark the case as approved and system just hung. She also got the decision cannot be made checked in the letter and officer said it should get approved in couple of days - do not lose any sleep over it.

So here we are, both sitting tight with fingers crossed. If any of you have gone through, please share your experience.

I will keep y'all posted when it changes

It was approved, and status changed to Oath ceremony will be scheduled for both of us (Wife's status changed yesterday around 6pm and my status changed today). So all good!

My wife had her interview on April 21st. We had an international trip planned leaving on May 4th (today) and figured that we'd get our oath ceremony scheduled for sometime after we got back. Lo and behold right around April 26th we got notice that her oath ceremony was scheduled for May 10th....right in the middle of our trip! Just our luck. So rather than take the risk of trying to reschedule the Oath Ceremony and getting things screwed up I just ended up rescheduling our travel arrangements....oh well.

So in case you're wondering, at least in our case, they scheduled the oath ceremony pretty damn quick relative to our interview date.

Not so fast.....my wife's ceremony is scheduled for May 10th at the Campbell Education Center. That's next Wednesday and is not on a Saturday like you've indicated.

Congratulations and best wishes! Good choice on prioritizing oath ceremony first. It a hard battle with USCIS to reschedule anything.

I absolutely stand corrected - I give up trying to understand the pattern. There was one oath ceremony on Apr 27th (Thursday) held in Gears Road. From what I have heard, the Gears Road oath ceremony can accommodate only few hundreds.

I have my urgent passport appointment on Monday.  I have to travel for work on Thursday, so hopefully it's finished no later than Wednesday!

My Oath ceremony was the 27th.  I called to get the appointment on the 28th.
