CFO Stamping and POE

Right now, I am planning for my CFO stamping and flight to the USA (too optimistic..LOL!).

A little background, I had my CFO seminar in Cebu City prior to acquiring my passport so I already have the CFO-related certificates. I called CFO-Manila and asked if I could have our visa stamped there. They said, it's okay. Now, I am looking for an affordable hotel near the CFO Building. Anybody here knows what hotels? How many hours does it take for the stamping? I am planning of doing it a day before our intended flight (meaning we have to stay overnight in MNL). However, I am also contemplating of doing it the same day as our flight if it will take just a couple of hours, and just get a night int'l flight. As for the POE, what's the best so far? Any Chicago or Guam POE'er here? Please share.

Thank you.

My wife got the CFO sticker the morning she flew. Registration didn't open until 10AM tho and she barely made her 3:30 PM flight.

She got to CFO at 8AM but registration didn't open until 10 .

This was in Quezon City tho. Don't know what time the other CFO does registration.

Only took about 10 minutes to get the stamp as she was first in line.

If you have visa in hand you may be able to get "first time immigrant discount on your airline tickets. My wife and anak did from PAL. Saved about 20%.

as for me back then, my flight to the US was jan 27th on a saturday, so our first plan was to fly first flight to manila on friday and have it stamp that day. then i realize "just incase" there are some problems along the way that is "beyond" our control and they couldnt stamp it on that day then im screwed up since i have a flight on the following day and its a saturday, no CFO office i think... so we change it to thursday, my mom and i flew there thursday morning, went straight to CFO have it stamp, waited an hr or less then headed to las palmas hotel not so expensive about $40 i think its around malate, close to robinsons mall... spend a day with my mom then flew here... good luck to you  and have a safe flight

to edit: this is in quirino CFO

its better to be safe

As I said ! PAL gave me a first time immigrant discount for my wife and anak. I purchased the tickets thru Nobel travel here in Hawaii.

I did have to ask for it and they had to check on it. Called back said it was OK.

If you fly Mabuhay [business class] they will give you the discount without proof of visa.

However if you fly economy I was told you have to have visa in hand to get the discount when you purchase the tickets.

Don't know about other airlines.

I flew my wife and anak Mabuhay as they were from a barrio and I wanted them to leave the Philippines like the 2 queens they are!

Good thing as they would probably have missed the plane because of CFO registration time if they had flown economy and had to stand in lines.

They didn't even have to carry their baggage. Basically went thru security and walked on the plane.
