EMERGENCY ***

My Father is in hospital in india and i have my N-400 interview in Seattle field office on December 20th 8:30 AM, I have made flight booking for tomorrow that is December 16th to travel around 4:30 PM.

If i go for a walk in to the Seattle USCIS field office and request for an appointment for early interview will the officers consider that?

Please Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry about your father. You likely need to reschedule your N-400 interview. If somehow USCIS approves your citizenship today (I doubt it), you'd have to get US passport to travel.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Not exactly. It's possible to pass interview and ask to schedule the oath ceremony later (it can be months) and travel using Green Card until then

@aneeth Call them, explain the situation, ask what your options are. Have the proof your father is in hospital just in case.

That's true, but I doubt USCIS will squeeze in a walk in N-400. If I was presented with that option, I'd be hesitant to accept. IO can be in a bad mood to have a random interview arranged. The best they can offer is to reschedule IMHO.

You may get an earlier interview, but possibly not at that walk-in visit.  You might have to come back.

"Nothing ventured, nothing gained."  You can try.

If you're successful and pass the interview, delay the oath ceremony as suggested.

Prayers for your father.
