hello!

i recently got married here in florida to my partner and i was wondering if i am required to register my marriage with the philippine embassy because same sex marriage isn't legally recognized back in the philippines

i am just asking before i put in the effort and money in gathering these notarized documents they are requiring for the registration.

i am also asking here because googling hasn't really given me any answers so hopefully someone in the same situation or someone who knows the answer might find this.

thank you!

Since same sex marriage is not recognized you can't register it even if you wanted.

Good that you asked first, because it really would have been a waste if you had sent in the paperwork for ROM.

Did you plan to change your name when you got married?  If you did, then be aware that you are unable to get a new Philippines passport in that changed name.

I am not changing my name so I guess I can renew my passport no problem!

No chance whatsoever you could register your marriage in the Philippines.  Any ROM would be rejected.  It is no issue at all for US immigration purposes.
