12/20/2023 - Sent to USCIS (I-485 + I-765)

01/03/2024 - NOA1

01/29/2024 - Biometrics Appointment, Status Updated to Fingerprints Received Same Day

02/29/2024- RFE issued for I-693

04/05/2024- Sent response to RFE (tracking shows it was delivered to FO 04/08/2024)

Now, more waiting 🙃🙃 Nothing has happened with the EAD since the status changed to fingerprints received, so hoping at this point they're just going to go for the Greencard 😬🙃

After being stuck at 'your case is taking longer than expected' since a couple of weeks after biometrics (feb), my i-765 now changed to an eta of '5 weeks' - I'll take any movement at this stage, lol. would be nice if i get my greencard at the same time :D

Happy to announce that our I-485 adjustment of status has been approved! 😀 The I-130 and the I-485 were approved one day apart, so when we got notifications about case update, we both assumed it was them closing our I-130 case. Little did we know the AOS was actually approved and we've been ignorant of it this whole time. 😅 It looks like we have a package coming for this Saturday from the USCIS-Corbin production facility. I can only imagine that that must be her green card.

We heard so many different things throughout this whole process, and so many nightmare stories. We were told that because we adjusted status in America off of a tourist visa that we would be put through the wringer, that we would be waiting 12-18 months, and that there would 100% be a USCIS interview required. None of that ended up being true. Aside from one RFE asking for additional marriage proof/pics, it was almost completely painless, if you don't count the initial work on all the forms. I'm sure my wife's home country being Japan probably helped, being that it's an ally nation and all. But I think it just goes to show that every case and case worker is different, and not everything you hear online is true (go figure). If you have honest intentions and do the process correctly, there's really nothing to worry about.

Good luck to everyone still on this journey!

Hi everyone,

we submitted our AoS documents on December 22, 2023, biometrics was on January 22, 2024, and then on February 7, 2024, I got the combo card (work authorization). No updates since, my I-485 status hasn't changed from "6 months" and I'm seeing here people are getting their GCs pretty fast.

Is anyone else still waiting?

USCIS' webpage was actually accurate in the time estimate if anyone is wondering. Thanks for all the help from everyone here.
