Hello there,

I'd like to you to share your exprience on NVC Administrative processing.

Our case (I129F) was received by NVC over 3 weeks ago. They sent me a letter with the case number. But, they did nor send the file to the consulate yet. I'm being told that the case is under administrative processing in Washington.

How long usually does this take? Is/was anybodyelse out there with similar situation?

When NVC completes the AP do they send me a notification to say that now it is being sent to the consulate?

Thank you all.

Timeline

My wife's K3 was in Administrative Processing at NVC for a month. During AP, they told me they'd send me a letter telling me when they sent her packet on to Moscow. They never did. I'm not saying they won't for you -- I'm saying they didn't for me.

Now, I made a habit of calling NVC or DOS (in DC) and I found out that she exited AP a couple days before NVC actually sent her documents to Moscow. So, maybe, giving them the benefit of the doubt, they didn't send me the letter they promised because I got the information from them before they could even write the letter.

Good luck. Because it was indefinite, AP was a pretty hard period of time for my wife and I. I hope it goes more easily with you.
