Initially I couldn't get my way around the date for my interview but after i request for reschedule I found an alternative and I will be available on that day. I do not have new date for reschedule yet and i heard it takes months to fix. So, Can i appear for my interview on my original interview date?

Hello everyone… I just wanted to share my experience in DPA, after my first post. I already had my passport and I am outside the country now…
What I did to get my appointment online was I waited in the middle of the night 12am exactly because in a short minute that time slot will disappear and that’s what happened to me. I missed the appointment on that day but I check back around 4:45am just checking if there is slot open and yes 9am open so I jump to bed and try to make an appointment again after I miss that 12 mn. Then I try to click next but it says sorry not available but I refresh for the second time it’s they same, not available, and the 3rd time booom I am successfully in but on step 4 so I fill out the info and then wait for the code to be sent in my email then click the next to step 5 and then I finally have had my confirmation number. Thank you lord. We all need to be patient  to deal with this appointment and make it quick also or else you miss it.. I hope guys this will help.. Good luck to everyone…
Oh before I forget they don’t allow applicant without confirmation number base on my experience that day on my appointment and my passport I pick up after 2 days the day before my flight because I still have time and I got my Naturalization Certificate too..The lady who assisted me was nice and friendly..

Question:

My wife has her N400 Interview scheduled for Saturday, August 7th at the Irving Texas Location.

From looking at others timeline from Dallas Field Office, it seems about 2 weeks after doing your N400 Interview, you get scheduled for Oath Ceremony.

We have already scheduled a trip to Cancun on September 1st and another one Oct. 13th. Both short trips just 5 days each.

My question is after she does the Citizenship Interview, I assume USCIS will assign a Oath Ceremony date, Can she delay the date she does the ceremony?  Or do you self schedule the oath taking? Or after you get the ceremony date, can you reschedule it?

Thanks and I will wait for answer

during you interview, you can let the interviewer know that you are travelling within a certain date so he/she knows to schedule you right into a ceremony that you will not miss. They may/may not give you your oath date on the same day as your interview, however, it may be best to jus shut up and see what happens, perharps move your trip cos dallas office can be such a hassle sometimes once

Hi sir.. I am not expert to this but on my interview in Dallas, last April they don’t do the same day oath but maybe your wife can ask or tell about the trip maybe the IO can schedule the oath before the trip… My oath was 28 days after my N400 interview. And that afternoon after my interview I check online and they schedule my oath interview…

I hope this will help you sir and good luck to your wife’s interview…

Yes, I will have my wife take our itinerary and ask them if they can schedule her oath taking after our trips, If they can that would be great if not I guess I will deal with it.

I will update after she has her interview, to see if we got lucky and was able to push back the oath ceromony

I'm still waiting from Jan 2020... jesus christ

@KatieL You are way over the current processing time as per the link at the end of this sentence for Dallas which is 12 to 18 months  - https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

Have you contacted USCIS? If yes, what did they say.

You need to engage the Ombudsman ASAP using this link - https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

Ombudsman is a waste of time as well. Have a case open with them for 60days now. It's messed up in Dallas.
