Hi everyone.

My wife successfully obtained a temporary (1 yr) stamp in her green card! So now she can visit family this summer. :) On the other hand, we're almost at two years with waiting for the interview, and starting to get a little concerned....

All that aside, I have a non-immigration question; I thought possibly one of you could help.

As an US citizen, what does it look like for travel from US-St.P Summer 2021? I'm having trouble pinning down concrete info. The Embassy says Do Not travel, but doesn't say travel is Restricted. Then I read a blog post that seemed to suggest an actual Ban on US national-Russia travel is currently in place.

Can anyone help clear this up for me or point me to the best source for this info?

you should follow the guidelines from this sites

https://ru.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/

and also this one.

as per US embassy in Russia.

Entry and Exit Requirements

  • Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? No
    • The Government of the Russian Federation banned the entry of foreign nationals, including American citizens, with a few exceptions.
    • The ban does not apply to: airplane crew members, permanent residents of the Russian Federation who hold a valid residence permit, or transit passengers. In addition, the Russian government allows entry of foreigners for medical treatment or in order to care for relatives in Russia.
    • U.S. citizens who qualify as a “high-qualified specialist” on specific categories of work visas are allowed to enter Russia with the proper visa document.  They should coordinate with their employer in Russia in obtaining this type of visa.
    • U.S. citizens who hold a tourist visa and have family members in Russia (spouse, children, parents, etc.) are generally NOT allowed to enter under the current rules regarding Covid-19.  They should reach out to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Washington, DC, for their request to be considered.

you should contact Russian Embassy in US and find out the correct information .

Regarding my passport, I have such an amazing info to share. As I had mentioned, I had an URGENT trip planned and ticketed on Tuesday (4/13) and managed to get an appointment at the Dallas Passport Agency at early AM today. (This was such a touch-and-go situation due to trying to schedule the appointment - countless phone calls and kept checking frequently at the https://passportappointment.travel.state.gov/ site). Anyway, reached the Dallas Agency (at 1100 Commerce St) at 9:00 AM and received the passport book and card at 11:00 AM. Whew! Now I can actually breathe after all the stress!

@bzbee and @DallasDreamy, so after my Oath, i went to the Passport Agency on Monday Morning, got my passport in afternoon, they had to ask me to redo my picture which I did but it was not as cool as i wanted to but who cares...now sitting at DFW airport waiting for my flight ✈️..

Great that you both got your passports on the same day and could travel to meet your emergencies. Have a safe trip.

I applied via USPS on 12th and opted for the expedited processing. Got an update that it is "In-Process" on the 14th and my check was cashed on the 15th. So I am expecting to receiving it in another two weeks or so, probably by the end of the month or early May.

Relieved that the citizenship journey is finally over. Once I get my US passport, I have another small journey left - to renounce my Indian citizenship and apply for a OCI card.

Hello everyone my interview was finally over today. I am July filer of 2020.

First the IO asked my GC, DL & Passport and then begin the:

Civic Test

1.What does the judicial branch do? I answered 4

2.The house of representative has how many voting members?

3.Name one branch or part of the government.

4.What is one reason colonist came to America?

5.Who is the father of our country?

6.Where is the Statue of Liberty?

Reading: Who is Abraham Lincoln?

Writing: Lincoln was the President of civil war.

Then Yes / No question. And the IO asked what other documents that I have I give him the 2020 Tax return & bank statement. Then he said congrats you passed your interview but the decision cannot be made right now and he said he will try to finish to review my application then wait for your Oath letter in the mail and he give me a piece of paper a copy that I passed. Yay!😃

I just check my online and the Oath was schedule but no date yet. I am almost over on my journey. Thank you lord..! To all the VJ members thank you so much and god bless!🙏

Had my interview today! I was planning on asking for a name change even though I didn't check that box on the application, but the interview officer told me they have a 1,200 people backlog for the judicial oath ceremony in Dallas, they haven't had any judicial oaths in 6 months and they're not sure when they will restart, due to the change of administration. Needless to say, I'm keeping my name for a while longer.

As a note: they asked to see all of my passports from both my citizenships even if the N-400 form only asks about my original citizenship.

Also, a FYI: if you've had any speeding tickets or traffic violations dismissed, you must submit an original or certified copy from the corresponding court showing either the dismissal or "no record".

As of today - this is still what it says. Anyone else seemingly getting left behind by the May / June filers who have already completed?

Yesterday, I have received oath ceremony notice for 14-May. Finally big sigh of relief after a long wait (17 months from date of filing to oath ceremony date). I have requested for name change.

@MagentaLife I have a question in your Oath they do allow visitors to come? Thanks and congratulations again…😊  my oath in mid May and I can’t wait..😀

Look at your oath notice, it says no visitors. That said, I saw a few people who had one person with them. I feel that they were not enforcing the rule very strictly. But YMMV.
