What’s the average wait time between the interview and the oath ceremony, I wasn’t expecting to get my interview until late October so I booked vacation for October 3rd but it’s looking like oaths are taking place a week after interviews meaning it lines up perfectly with my vacation

If your interview date is Sept 27th, then I'd assume your oath would be sometime mid Oct (like 2 weeks after your interview or less than that) going by their current trend

My mercy I read u said you got notice saying ur  10 years GC in the way

Notonstan I believe they do oath once every month so I believe u gonna receive your oath by the end of that month

Yes I got such notice but obviously am not gonna be getting any card since my oath is in two days time and I haven't receive any card yet.

I guess it's just the regular messages that goes out for green card approvals.

Looks like they do oath twice every month and different sessions (mid of the month and end of the month).

The IO mentioned to me that they do special same day oath if the applicant is a student or the person drove 5 hours to the field office.

My vacation is in the first week of October so an oath mid or end of month would be perfect, all I can do is keep my fingers crossed, I'm just thankful Dallas is moving getting through all of the 2018 filers finally!

@Amhara, I remember you filed in late December too. Did you hear back on your N400?

Not yet, but it’s possible we could hear something in September.  I had noticed that the “estimated timeframe” had decreased in the DHS.USCIS account site about a month ago.  I will get a text and email when we get an update!

Yep you will most likely hear back in a few days. Mid december filers already got their interviews scheduled.

any one know if  we can apply for passport same day after oath or we have to wait ?

You can apply, but you need to send your naturalization certificate.  You may want to make a pretty clear copy of it before applying.  I think we may opt for the expedited processing, but when I got mine, the documents were returned pretty fast.  I received the identity/citizenship documents first, then the passport book and card together.

You may want to get your SSN updated to the citizenship status first.  And make sure there isn’t anything else that is more pressing than your US passport, like updating your employer.

Do you still remember how many hours the oath ceremony lasted?

Oath done today at 9am. It was a memorable event.

It lasted less than an hour and fun.

1000 people from 98 countries.

I got my US passport already because am traveling out tonight.

I wish everyone waiting good luck ... Hang in there, it’s worth the waiting after all.

I’m definitely still staying back on visajourney to give back to others on any information I can help with because this platform has been a blessing to me through help from great people on here all through the cause of my immigration journey from k1. I didn’t use any attorney cos I find all necessary informations here :)
