Hey is someone nice enough to tell me step by step how are interviews being conducted at the Irving Office?

I'm asking this for my mom. She is not a tech-savvy lady and a nervous lady. I want to make sure she is well prepared.

(By Step by step I mean the whole process from beginning to the end)

thanks!

No need to be tech savvy! it's very simple

you show up 15 minutes before your interview time and wait in line to enter the building, once inside you need to remove your jacket, purse and shoes (she might want to wear socks) to go through a metal detector (kind of like at the airport security) then you walk to the counters they will instruct you where to line up. try to adhere to the social distancing rules. Once you reach the counter they will check your appointment letter and photo ID they will take your picture and verify your fingerprints once thats done they will instruct you to go to the second floor. Once you get there the person at the desk will ask you for your appointment letter, they will keep it and tell you to sit down and wait. Then the officer in charge of conducting your interview will come out and call your name, you follow them to their office and then they proceed to ask you the questions, my interview was a little different because I'm in the military but for a civilian should be shorter and faster. At the end they will ask you to verify your personal information in the Ipad that's in front of you, you confirm and sign with a stylus on the screen, they will explain her how to do it if she gets confused.  Finally they give you a piece of paper stating wether you passed the test and met the requirements or not. That's pretty much it...

I hope I helped!

Great job typing that out. Brief, to the point but complete from start to end. Thank you.

I have my interview coming up in a couple of weeks. Good to know what to expect.

I wonder why they cancelled it. What about other people who had their interviews recently,  are they now waiting for oath ceremonies for Dallas/Irving?

The reason is the surge of the Covid-19 case. I interviewed on 11/30, scheduled for oath in plano event center on 01/12. Got cancelled on 12/22, and waiting for re-scheduling since then. I know someone got rescheduled to take the oath at the USCIS irving office. I also noticed a few people on this board who interviewed on Dec and Jan got their oath scheduled as well.

Does the Status changes from "Oath will be scheduled" To "Oath is scheduled" ? Does it remain the same and they just upload the ceremony letter?

We scheduled your oath ceremony for Receipt Number IOExxxxxxxx. We sent a notice with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony to the address you gave us.
