Glad that there is a thread just about Dallas! Is there only one Field Office for DFW area which is the one in Irving? Is this Dallas office known as extremely slow for years, or just due to COVID? Typically how many N400 interview is done per day in Dallas office? I don’t see much moving or discussions here about Dallas progress and the wait time has been painfully long.

When did you file N400?

I am a Feb-end filer and Nov-end bio taker. I am not a regular case yet at least in VisaJourney but I am sure more and more people similar to my timeline will appear with a delayed bio. If Dallas is interviewing November and December 2019 applications now, I will look to be called when the weather warms up again here.

I got the "We have taken an action on your case... " email alert today morning. Logged in to check and my interview is scheduled 😃
The letter is not available in 'documents' yet, so don't know the date - but guessing sometime late Jan, about 11 months from filing.

Time to start preparing for the test.

Amazing news! Does your in-account estimated wait time match the real schedule?

Don't be unhappy if I say that I conservatively guess your interview date falls in February. Share with us the actual date! Absolutely wish you will get all done right away!

Estimated case completion shows as May-2021. I was not expecting to be interviewed till March-April, so this is a bit earlier than expected - a welcome surprise.

And yes, it will probably be late Jan or early Feb. I will post the date when I know.

My wife filed in January 2020. Biometrics in Feb, and nothing since then. What is going on?

This has been your experience as well?

On the other hand, apparently a few cases who filed in July already had their ceremony. Confused.

Notice available for download today. Interview is on 11-Feb-2021.

And my 'Estimated Case Completion Time' changed considerably - from May 2021 to September 2021, so 4 months longer than before. I was actually expecting it to reduce a month or so since I am having the interview in Feb, the oath could probably be in Mar or Apr. So, this change is concerning, especially since I read in another post that someone from Denton county (like me) who had their interview in Sep 2020 is still waiting for their oath to be scheduled. I know... nothing to do but to stay positive and wait it out 😃

I filed in Feb and had my Bio in Mar. Just got my interview notice. I think she should be hearing something soon.

If your wife file online, check the online USCIS account for any case updates. Even though I got my interview notice today, my overall case completion estimate changed from May 2021 to Sep 2021, so they could be having some delays.

Hard agree how wacky the in-account estimation can always be. What a big miserable moment between a successful interview and an oath. I'd have to give up the plan on changing names, if this would only help a bit to shorten the wait.

A portion of Irving cases used to be processed by Oklahoma City and San Antonio. Still happening recently in the post-COVID era?

I think you're correct about hearing something soon.

At first I thought filing online put you in a slower channel compared with filing by mail, but now I don't think that's case. Obviously Covid delays are a big factor here.

Her estimated USCIS online "case completion" shows May 2021 (as of yesterday). Now I'm wondering if it will change like yours. I'm assuming "case completion" means taking oath, but I'm not positive. Is that your understanding?

She requested a name change, too, I'm wondering how much that will affect things.

I think another factor, for her case, was filing N-400 before the completion of her petition to remove conditions case (751) (green card expired ~1 yr ago). She still hasn't received her 2nd green card, in fact that case was "combined" with the N-400 (whatever that means). She only has the I-551 stamp, which maybe be a little tricky for travel home this summer, assuming Covid allows it. USCIS only grants appointments for 551 stamps for "emergency" situations at the moment. Maybe that will change, though (?)

Sorry for going on and on! Altogether, keeping positive, the light is on the horizon! Good luck to you.

Yes, I believe the 'Estimated Case Completion Time' is the time remaining to the final step - Oath Ceremony & becoming a citizen.

And the 'Estimated Wait Time" is the time to the next step. So if you just applied, then Biometrics is the next step etc.

A name change cannot be done by USCIS, it must be done by a Judge. So it will definitely delay things a bit. From what I read it is taking about 3-4 months to Oath after interview if you have a name change. Without the name change, it is about 2-4 weeks.

I don't know about the 751, so can't comment on that.

Good luck to you too. Please post when your wife gets her interview scheduled.

Last minute question for anyone that might have experience with this topic. My husband's interview is on Monday. We both completely forgot about a traffic ticket he got in 2017. It was for crossing a double white line. He took defensive driving and the ticket was dismissed. He did put it on his application, but does he need to take something with him from municipal court saying that it was dismissed? That's the only ticket he's had. If so, then we need to get a copy of it tomorrow.

TIA
