That's a good development ... nice to see that Dallas office is now completing a case within 6/7 months .. :)

I hope this remains true since my wait time is 10 months. Hoping it will be less than that.

I had my oath ceremony at Plano event center yesterday. Around 500 ppl took oath from 70 countries. Officially Us citizen now. Next step apply for passport.

i had 7.30 appointment for oath reached around 6.45 line was so long already and it was so cold they didn’t open the door till about 8  I think. Don’t come too early. Also there are more than 1 line of people standing so if you have family make them walk around I found shorter line later. No food or drinks or weapons allowed. Family and friends stand on left side and applicants on right when you enter. Once you pass the security there are 3 lines to enter the auditorium.Keep your oath appointment letter and green card in hand. Once she checks it she will write the table number for the officer on the letter. I had table 5  you hand over your green card to him and he will give you the oath package.once ceremony over you have to go back to same table and he will give you the naturalization certificate.Oath takers sit in the front and family in the back. Can’t sit together with family. I think by 9.30 ceremony was over. I filled the voter registration form and gave it back to them at the venue. Hope this helps if anyone interested to know.

Hi I have a question how long it takes time to get an oath notice I was approved on 27 January waiting for my oath ceremony I requested my name change usually how many months it will take

Depends on your county. Dallas or Tarrant county fall under Texas northern federal court and they have monthly judicial oath (name change). Denton and Collin counties fall under Texas eastern federal court jurisdiction where there is no fixed schedule. They will schedule name change cases only when they have enough candidates. Sometimes may take months. Better not to change name via n400 and change later in court after naturalization. You may have to spend additional money, but will speed up the process. Changing name in court in Texas can be done in couple of days.

Hi Hector,

so totally how many days after you got recommended for approval until you got the official approval notice?

I went to my interview today and also got "recommended approval", so I'm just wondering...

Just an update: I went to my interview yesterday and got recommended for approval. The IO told me to watch out for the oath letter in the mail.

This morning I checked my status online and it was updated to “You attended your interview”, and then “We approved your application.” No email notifications like usual though.

My status on “Check case status” is “We placed you in line for oath ceremony.”

IO was a female officer. My civic questions included:

- Who was the president during the Great Depression and WW 2?

- Name 2 cabinet level

- Why does the state have 50 stars

- What is the supreme law of the land?

- What war did the US fight in 1900’s

- Who is the father of our country?

Was asked to write and read a simple sentence.

IO also asked about my divorce after almost 5 years of marriage. I filed under 5 year law.

We chit-chat a little bit about pets and the weather. She then confirmed my information (Full name, address, phone number etc).

I brought my tax returns with me but she did not ask for anything. I did not upload the tax returns as evidence when I applied online because it wasn’t required.

Finally she gave me a paper that said I was recommended for approval and told me wait for the oath letter. She also mentioned it will likely be at the Plano center.

For those of you who have finished oath ceremony can you tell me if there was any Driving license people at the venue to update your status? I think i missed it. I saw the voter registration people and got the card already. I dont feel like going to the DMV and waiting long line.
