I had my interview today. Didn’t go so well. My i-751 was already approved and I had the unconditional greencard. But my file never made it from Wisconsin or whereever the hell it was to Irving. So even though I passed the interview and there was nothing shady on the application she gave me a letter that says decision cannot be made. She said my file was just shipped so it will take another 3-4 weeks. This is just never ending. I am so pissed off. Will this journey ever end.

Hey Unagi if you dont mind me asking why was your file in Wisconsin in the first place. Was that where you lived when you filed i-751 originally?

It was transferred there because of case load (That is what the notice said). My i751 was approved in a yr when normally it takes about two years.

sorry about your case dragging, hopefully that gets shipped fast and the decision gets made soon.  
Immigration is so complicated, I swear I have aged some extra years since I started my process,  very  exhausting,  uncertainty followed  me to the day i got approved, so dont you think that its only you being worried and frustrated ... lost many hours of sleep due to the stress.  Not to stress you out because my case was different, just an example .. one time a court order regarding with my case, took 4  months to go from a federal court in Dallas to the USCIS building in Irving.  They just kept saying it has not come yet, and I could not get the social security without that order so I was fuming.

Anyone else received interview notification in last week among Dallas filers?

N-400 Application Timeline :

Application sent via mail - April 15th  (Field office Dallas, TX)

NOA Receipt date - April 17th

Biometrics receipt - April 22th (appointment scheduled for May 14th)

Biometrics completed - May 7th (Early Walk-in)

Biometrics completed - May 7th (Early Walk-in)

Interview scheduled notification - November 12th (via email - waiting to receive letter in mail for actual Interview date)

Interview completed & Case approved - November 17th

 

Naturalization Ceremony (in January 2020 - waiting on notice)

Thanks so much for your kind words. I am feeling so much better now. USCIS really tests our patience in every possible way. You just feel so helpless. After a relaxing weekend I am feeling so much better. Can’t wait to be done soon.

Got my Oath Ceremony tomorrow at 7:30AM, I know a lot of others have theirs later in the day, just wanted to say good luck, I have a long drive from Midlothian up through Dallas and onto Plano in the morning so that's going to be fun.

Just got back from the oath ceremony, what a great morning it was, people from 96 countries in Plano, one thing I will say, I had the early ceremony at 7:30 and tons of us showed up at 6:45 but they refused to open the doors till 7:30 on the dot, but other than that it went perfectly, I’m officially a US Citizen!!

Today my journey came to an end, 1001 new citizens in my ceremony. Chaotic and not well organized but happy its over. 

Adjustment of Status (AOS), Removal of Conditions (ROC) Followed by N400 

 

AOS from ESTA

03-13-2015: AOS Packet Mailed to Chicago Lockbox Facility via USPS

03-14-2015: Arrived at Post Office Chicago, IL

03-17-2015: AOS Packet received by USCIS

03-23-2015: Text/ Email Notification: Notice of Acceptance

03-28-2015: NOA1 for AOS, AP & EAD received in the mail

04-03-2015: Notice of Appointment for Biometrics on the 14th of April at 9 a.m arrived with lawyer

04-07-2015: Notice of Appointment for Biometrics on the 14th of April at 9 a.m arrived at my address (lot slower)

04-06-2015: Early walk in for Biometrics complete 6th April, walked in at 3pm and spoke with the centre manager

05-14-2015: Expedite request made

05-15-2015: USCIS site says expedite complete but no change.

06-01-2015: Case enquiry opened with USCIS as its passed 75 days.

06-02-2015: EAD/AP card in production and to be distributed.

06-05-2014: Hard copy notice to say EAD approved.

06-08-2015: EAD Card arrived in the mail.

08-25-2015: 161 Days since filing and no interview date.

01-12-2016: 300 Days since filingand no interview date.

02-24-2016: Case scheduled for Interview March 26th 2016 (347 days after filing and will be well over a year come interview date).

04-02-2016: GREEN CARD ARRIVED.

I attended my interview today and all went smooth - took only 10-15 mins. The lady that interviewed me was very friendly and conversational. My oath ceremony is on Nov 21st. Questions she asked me are below

- Name one problem that led to the Civil War

- Who was the first President of the United States

- Who did the US fight against in World War I

- Why are there 50 stars on the flag

- What stops one branch of the government from becoming too powerful

 

Application based questions

- Date of birth

- Husband's name

- Current address

- Are you employed? Where do you work? What is your current title?
