My ROC has been transfered to the local office and the N-400 is now actively being reviewed. Considering how these combo interviews usualy go, I think the officer that did my interview was just being nice when he gave me the full approval on the spot instead of "can't decide today because I need the ROC first". I'll take it!

Good luck! Hope it happens soon for you.

Exactly. I have all of my documents under my ex spouses last name, literally everything is under that last name.

If I get my naturalization certificate in my maiden name, how can I prove that I changed my last name? How can I change my documentation without the proof?

I am going to need the document which states the name change, I think it's called N-662. But as I mentioned, my officer told me this is not a name change, which was a bit confusing.

I will wait for the ceremony and ask them in person about this, if I cannot get the name change document, I will just keep this last name and change it in the future or find a different solution.

I think to change your name on your official documents like SSN you just need your birth certificate and divorce paperwork.

My wife came to the US on an F1 visa about 10 years ago.

Does any has experience with N-400 deschedule notice just 10 days before the interview?

And did you get new date (reschedule) interview again and how soon?

I got this notice 3 days ago because unforeseen circumstances.

thank you

I have seen this happen on Reddit. Sometimes, it happens because they don't ship your file in time to the field office, there could be other reasons. Usually in those few cases where it happens, people had a new interview date within 3-4 weeks, but other people did wait like 5-6 months with no news. I hope you are not in this boat. Good luck!

Also, did you recently change your address or move to fall under new USCIS FO jurisdiction?

Yes you need to go to a Social Security office and let them know you are a citizen. Secondly any Trusted Traveler Programs? I have Global Entry, let them know you're a citizen, update your passport with them.

I wonder why does Social security office need to know , what is the difference? 🤔

i am currently married should I bring current marriage certificate? Also, any past documents related to VAWA?

I plan also to bring my birth certificate and for kids also  ( if you have any) , social security number ; traffic tickets ( paid or dismissed). Marriage certificate for sure . Not sure about VAWA 🤔 probably not, I guess they have it already.

Good luck with your interview!

Did anyone have issue with using stylus pen in the interview? I just tried at home on my iPad, and I don’t like it all. Can I ask them  to write on a paper with a regular pen instead ? 🙂

Don’t sweat it.

i had mine 2 Fridays ago and I just drew in the pad with my finger. It wasn’t pretty but they just want to make sure you can write correctly and spell sentences.

Dont worry it isn’t a penmanship test

Don't worry about that, it's messy when everyone does it. But that's all they provide.

There's many reasons, but mainly there are certain benefits that are different for citizens vs permanent residents I think
