@W and E also has N-400 interview on 4/11 - just received a notification from VisaJourney because their timeline is similar + location is the same as mine.

Maybe you tagged the wrong profile? Seems like this one hasn't been active in years.

There's a website with the schedule for oath ceremonies here: https://www.moeb.uscourts.gov/naturalization-information

Clearly no same day can happen by i hope it doesn't take too long either.

Yeah the person I tagged hasn't made any posts/comments but their timeline is active and they are from STL whose interview is 4/11 (which is why VisaJourney sent me an email). Thanks for the link to the courts - looks like it'll be 1-3 months until we take oath.

The uscis officer will go through your application with you and reaffirm the name change.

I would ask them at that time if you’re unsure if you want to change your name or not

That makes sense. Thanks! 2 days to go.

Do people requesting a name change have less chance of taking the Oath on the same day as the interview?

I don't think you can have a name change and do the oath the same day because there's a legal process to it? When I asked about it out of curiosity at the end of my interview, the IO said "you can request one now but you won't be able to naturalize today".

But here in Miami they do it the whole time. They request name changes and have the Oath on the same day at the USCIS Field Office. But I read on Reddit that it is not always the case since there must be a federal judge present during the ceremony.  I thought there was always a judge during the ceremony

There must be a federal judge at the ceremony who can approve/sign off on the name change. It cannot be done by a USCIS officer, so yes it will likely delay things

Usually how far in advance do they let you know interviews will take place?

Most people get the letter around 5 weeks before interview date.
