So, I have received an email on Friday saying there was an action taken on my case. I have looked online but there were no updates on my USCIS account. I have called USCIS asking what action was taken and they told me they are preparing my case for an interview so this is nothing major. Also, they updated me that my removal of conditions case has been transferred to the Field office on the May 6th. So I am expecting 2 interviews.

My friend just had both of her interviews removal of conditions and citizenship last week in North Carolina. Her husband was with her but in the waiting room. After asking her basic questions about her marriage and about 6 civic questions and reading and writing test the officer told her she could wait 30 minutes and take oath.

Make sure to bring your significant others for your interview just in case so they won't miss your oath. :)

I had my interview today in the Baltimore office. It was virtual and everyone I came into contact with were so lovely!

However, I did not get approved on the spot. I had checked on my N400 form that I had been arrested on 2 occasions but the charges were dropped and automatically expunged. I had ZERO documents to back up the expungement so she said she could not approve. I cried the rest of the interview. She said she would drag her feet and issue an RFI so I had ample time to get the expungement records I needed.

the interview questions she asked were:

1. During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the U.S.?

2. What are the 2 major political parties?

3. What is the political party of the current president?

4. What is the capital of your state?

 I forget the other 2.

I had to read “what do you pay to the government?” And had to write on a tablet “we pay taxes.”

The officer was so lovely. She gave me a pep talk about endurance. Made it clear she wanted to approve me but just needed those documents. I got my paper saying no decision could be made and was sent on my way.

I spent the next 4 hours driving to the courthouse and calling our central repository and uploaded the documents before I even got the RFI.

WHILE WRITING THIS POST, I got a call from the officer telling me I was approved and I didn’t even need the documents!!!!! God is so good!!

she said I will get a letter in the mail with my oath ceremony details.

Praise be to God - through Him all things are possible!

wishing everyone the utmost success in their journey going forward.

Update: I received my oath ceremony notice online today. Scheduled 6/21 in the Baltimore office. Can’t wait! So excited this is happening in an election year!

Became a citizen 6/2024. Now filing for my mother.

Good morning,

My question is do I want to upload it online or just bring into the office? Did they ask you for it?

Bring the transcript and bank statements since you filed the I-751 if you are looking to ROC and N-400 at the same time.  They asked my wife for both since the I-751 filing.  Just glanced at them but they did ask.

Nothing, just the officer opening your case before your interview. Good luck!

I have notice a pattern that everyone from the east coast wait much longer for interviews compare to the other coast.

I have passed my citizenship interview today in Kansas City, MO.

I arrived at 8:15am and was called shortly. They let my husband stay in the car. The officer ended up not calling him. I have had both removing of conditions from green card and citizenship test.

He asked me for my Ukraine passport, state issued ID, green card and interview notice.

First the officer asked me some questins about our marriage in order to complete removal of conditions interview.

Then I have had civic test. He told me ahead if I will answer first 6 correctly this will be done.

1. What led to Civil War?
2. Who is the governor of your state ( he first was concerned as I said the name of Kansas governor and he meant Missouri but because I live on Kansas side of metro area he accepted it.

3. What  is the capital of your state?

4. What is the highest court in the United States?

5. What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States?

6. Before he was a president Eisenhower was a general. What was was he in?

I have answered all correctly so we moved on to reading and writing test.

Than he started to ask me questions from my N-400 application such as where do I work, did I take any trips outside of the U.S. I needed to mention all of them and tell reasons I went.

He asked me my current address and previous address. He was able to fix one mistake I made on the application.

At the end he asked a lot of Have you ever questions, etc.  No definitions asked!

Then he asked me to sign on the tablet if everything is correct.

Overall the officer was very friendly and told me that I should be expecting an invitation for oath ceremony in 2-3 weeks.

I am so happy to be done!!! All Glory to God!
