Hi! I applied online around 3 weeks ago and received a notice in my profile that my biometric will reuse. At that moment it says waiting time was 4 months ( Chicago ).Now it says 7 months . I don’t know why …

Also, do we need to upload out taxes for the last 5 years to online profile ? Or do we need to bring it to the interview?

You can upload the last five years of your tax transcripts. I did it with the original application, but you can upload evidence now. Would’ve been better if you uploaded it to begin with but it doesn’t really matter.

Also the timelines on the USCIS website are not any indication of the processing times of your case.

in case you haven’t noticed, everyone’s increased by a few months, that’s because everyone gets the same timeline and it is a useless measure of when you’re going to hear back about an interview

  • Arrived to USA on F-1 Student Visa on 08/16/2016
  • Submitted I-485 & I-130 on 09/25/2017
  • Approved Green Card (IR7 category) on 05/17/2019
  • Electronically submitted N-400 (w/ name change) on 02/19/2024
  • Biometrics Reuse received on 02/19/2024
  • Interview Notice received on 04/21/2024
  • Interview at Chicago FO on 06/10/2024
  • Oath Ceremony on 07/15/2024
  • Applied for Expedited US Passport at USPS on 07/15/2024
  • PASSPORT RECEIVED on 07/26/2024 🇺🇸

Thank you ! I didn’t know that I should upload taxes to my online application 🤔 Is it mandatory ? It didn’t mention  in the instructions or anything like that.

No it's not mandatory with initial submission, but it proves good moral chatacter and may speed up approval.

Anyone that filed in January 2024 with the Los Angeles Field Office have an interview yet?

I am married to a USC and filed about 80 days early, based on the 3 year rule.

Seeing so many others get their interview scheduled and just wondering about the LA office experiences.

Yes me :) I filed January 5th and my interview is this Wednesday.

Did anyone take the oath yet? My interview is this week and since it's at 3 pm, I assume I won't have same day oath ceremony if all goes well.

I'm just debating what to wear. I've seen a stunning floor length, gala style red dress that I personally think would be very appropriate, but maybe I'm expecting way too much lol.

What is everyone else planning to wear?

Just wear something that you’d be comfortable showing up to a job interview with. Not too extravagant, but respectable.

Thank you! Can I just attach tax returns from TurboTax or freeTaxUsa? Or should it be original transcripts from IRA? 📚📚📚

Obtain your Tax Return Transcript, it's a couple of pages. Do not upload the return itself.

Business casual is more the way to go. But if you want to rock that dress, go for it,

 it's your day🙂

Thank you! I'll probably go for something a lil less extravagant lol. I also don't want to feel uncomfortable being way too overdressed. I came across some old posts from people years ago that really dressed up with suits and long dresses and I was hoping that was still a thing haha!

I just took the oath today. I wore a knee-length, bright blue button front dress with a matching belt, and 1-in black pumps. Most people in the room were dressed about the same, generally somewhere between business casual to business formal.

Good luck with your interview tomorrow!

When did you get the actual letter about the interview ( how many days / weeks before the interview)?  Our postman doesn’t really do a good job recently, and I worry about getting the letter in time .
