I feel my case is so unusual and it is frustrating.

It really isn't, lots of people have to wait for the I-751 to be adjudicated for the N-400 to be approved. It sucks but it has happened before. It's been only a week and your case has been moved, meaning it is doing something instead of just sitting in place, so give it a bit more time and you will get both approved soon.

I noticed there are some who filed N-400 after me and already received an interview appointment. My service center according to the receipt letter is NBC and I filed online. Does online filing take longer?

No, online vs. mailed it it's all the same. Biometrics reuse or not, it's usually all the same. Some people just hear back sooner, and for others it takes longer. Only the USCIS can answer why, but I'd say it's because they have an inconsistent system and likely the most reasonable explanation. There is no correlation.

It actually depends more on your Field Office (where your interview will take place). Some areas seem super fast, maybe because they have fewer applicants. But even then it seems inconsistent. I've looked at the Timelines and some people who file from the same city at the same time have very different processing times...

CR1 Visa

USCIS STAGE: 16 days No expedite request but USC residing abroad
NVC STAGE: 19 days from case # to case complete
03/27/12: interview at Paris embassy - APPROVED
04/12/12: POE San Diego

ROC
01/15/14: sent I-751 application

05/14/14: received card production notification by e-mail, approval date 05/13

Naturalization

02/01/24: N-400 submitted online; Biometrics reuse notice received immediately online; "case being actively reviewed" after a couple hours

02/09/24: received NOA1 by mail

02/10/24: received biometrics reuse notice by mail

04/08/24: interview scheduled for 05/14. Received "We have taken an action in your case" email.

05/14/24: approved at interview, same-day oath ceremony in San Francisco 🥳 🇺🇸

Passport

06/10/24: application submitted at post office for passport book and card, paid for expedited processing and shipping

06/24/24: received email notification that passport was approved, then shipped with tracking number

06/25/24: passport received

You can have the interview before your anniversary, but you cannot have the oath before. I personally have not seen any interview scheduled before anyone’s anniversary date. It’s not a “rule” it’s just what USCIS does.

The interview is almost always scheduled for 90+ days after filing if you file on the earliest possible early filing date.

Looks good to me. I would bring tax transcripts as opposed to returns as they're a lot shorter to print.

I had my interview yesterday in the Sacramento office and the case officer recommended that my application be approved. I think like most I came over prepared with a lot of documents but he only asked my for my green card, passport and marriage certificate. On a side note it was fun to see my file with my whole history since the fiance visa application, I caught glimpses of old pictures I had submitted.

For civics he started with the writing test, then the reading test and finished with the questions. I got the first 6 right so it stopped there. Once the verification on my application were finished the tone definitely relaxed and it was a nice conversation until he finished his paperwork. I'm waiting for the oath ceremony to be schedule now.

My N-400 timeline looks like this:

Jan 3 2024 - Filed N-400

Jan 4 2024 - Biometrics reused notice

Feb 14 2024 - Interview scheduled

Mar 26 2024 - Interview; recommended for approval

I don't think you game overprepared. Maybe you weren't asked for anything because you had everything. Would you came with minimal stuff, I bet you would've been asked for more evidence.
