I move a month before my husband spouse visa interview. The attorney told us to inform the officer at the embassy of the change so they can update the new address .my husband was so happy of the change he forgot to inform the officer.  I been reading online and facebook that i was supposed to fill out a I-865 within 30 days of moving but that was last week . others saying to inform the CBP officer at the port of entry ?

what can i do

You can still file I-865 any time.

Yes, file the I865, and if CBP asks, your husband can answer with the new address.  Your husband can also file an AR-11 once he arrives and settles in.

File an I-865 AND inform CBP officer.

Exactly.  This (informing the CBP officer)  is how the green card and Social Security cards get sent to the correct address.

so my husband had his spouse visa interview and forgot to inform the officer of my new change of address

so when filling out the I-865  it ask for effective date . do i put the date i actually move which pass the time require to submit to uscis ? or just write the date i sent the form ?

The I864 doesn't become effective until the beneficiary becomes a permanent resident.  I assume that hasn't even happened yet.

you read it wrong it’s update to address

I-865

No i didn't read wrong.  The I 865 is required to report a change of address on an EFFECTIVE I 864.  If beneficiary is not yet a permanent resident the i864 is not yet EFFECTIVE and no charge of address clock has even started.

But he isn't here yet.  The 30 clock will begin the day he arrives.  What I am trying to tell you is you are not late submitting the form and the form isn't going to be late until 30 days AFTER he arrives m.
