Korea criminal background check

Hi. I am a Japanese national who used to live in Korea for several years.

I applied for the criminal records certificate at the Korea embassy in Japan, however, the document got rejected.

NVC told me to obtain a new certificate from the correct issuing authority.

I have checked the official NVC website but did not know what was wrong with it.

Is your certificate a "Bomjoikyungryeokjeungmyungseo" issued by the "Commissioner General, Korean National Police Agency"?

Does the certificate follow the format specified here -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/SouthKorea.html

@Chancy Yes. "Bomjoikyungryeokjeungmyungseo" issued by the Korean National Police Agency.

I sent an email to NVC several times, but they just told me to check the official NVC website.

Instead of emailing NVC, re-upload the Bomjoikyungryeokjeungmyungseo to CEAC.  Also upload a letter referencing the DOS Reciprocity page for South Korea and highlight how the certificate copy shows that it is from the correct issuing authority.  Then press "Submit".
