I just called, and the lady insited that even though my case has been assigned that it can take 60 days for the officer to make a descision. I told her that I know that people are getting approved who filed after me, and she said I'm still within current processing times and then hung up on me. So their working today..............I talked to someone.

Well does anyone know how to do this "RFE Trick" ??? I'm ready to call:)

I'm all ears.....

Call 1-800-375-5283

Follow these prompts:

1, 2, 2, 4, 2, 1. Then enter your receipt number and press 1 to verify that it is correct. Press 1 again and wait for a representative.

So how is this a "trick" - just because you ask about whether you got an RFE?

Is it worth doing at all? I'm not sure I really understand the purpose of it....

Rodgiegirl when I called last week, I was told it would take several weeks. Sounds like she just wanted to give you the easy answer without checking, to get you off the phone. Hope you get approved this week.

Haha - well we know they're answering phones even if they aren't working! Nice of her to hang up on you - you should call again and see if you get to speak to someone else :D

Nice...so it might take up to 60 days once you are assigned? Interesting....also nice that she hung up on you...I guess they don´t get paid to answer your questions...?

So much for customer service!

yeah really...it appears Customer Service doesnt apply if you're a government entity. Something really needs to be done about this place. Congressmen, Senators...NO ONE seems to really care that much.

yeah it's not cool, but I guess they probably deal with people all the time...........probably really mad people, not an excuse but I guess I can understand. Still though, if you work in C.S. you should know how to handle phone calls and even angry people., I thougth they teach that stuff in training??

Well... I don't know... maybe it would be worth another call - I mean you can't get the same person every time - surely?

I already called twice and she was the second person I talked to. The first guy was nice, but somehow the phone got disconnected  I'm not gonna call again, I'm afraid that they'll put my application at the bottom of the list.

Maybe it's just a rumor, but I don't want to have to wait any longer than I have to. I'm already at 155 days. does anyone know if it's true.....do they put you at the bottom for calling too much?????

Ya I work in a call center for the phone company and if I treated even an irate customer like that I would be shown the door.
