Thanks Bszoom, i have a question is it possible to post the list next time in order of the send date.

I mean the NOA1 is not important for the USCIS, they work on the petitions from the received date/equals almost send date.

I think the list would be more accurate, when you use the send date instead of the noa1 date.

:yes:

I agree. I have suggested that several times in forum and sent a PM to zoomer this morning.

Well if you remember the post from the guy/girl who worked for USCIS, s/he was quiet clear in that USCIS start the clock on the recieved date printed on the Noa- 1. I would stick with what someone with real inside knowledge says but thats just IMHO.

:idea::idea::idea::idea::idea:

That's the whole point. The sent date normally differs by the received date by only a few days. The NOA1 notice date on the other hand can differ from the received date by months. VJ instructions say to enter the notice date on the timeline as the NOA1 date. Even though some members are entering the received date the majority are probably entering the notice date. Therefore, the sent date is the best date we have to use right now. Captain Ewok (VJ admin) and Zoomer himself have all said the same thing.

By sent date you mean sent to USCIS ?, pretty inaccurate I think. It could be sent from abroad, by overnight, by priority, could be redirected from one CS to another. For example it took ours 13 days to get to CSV via NSC. So I dont see any statistically meaningfulness in it. Received date as printed on the NOA-1 is the date USCIS start the clock at, and its their clock that matters.

:idea::idea::idea::idea::idea:

Yeah but people don't understand that the received date, is the date where the USCIS received your petition, thats printed on your NOA1. But people are putting the date in their time line, where they receive the NOA1. Not the received date printed on the NOA1, where USCIS receive your package.

That why the send date would be the most accurate, because the received date is normally the send date +2/3 days. When you receive your NOA1 is not important at all, or when they issue the NOA1. Important is when THEY receive it not YOU

The problem is that almost everybody is entering the DATE where the NOA1 was issued or received in mail. NOT the received date printed on the noa1. This is normally in most cases 2-3 days after the send date. Right now the NOA1 date in the VJ Database is useless.

Well its a simple fix, on the timeline data entry we stipulate "received by USCIS date" as printed on NOA-1 hardcopy/ nothing else please and highlight it. Of course there is always going to be some people who put the wrong date down, but I think if you spell it out simply and clearly it would be more accurate maybe. By using sent date your just accepting comparing apples to oranges as a accurate measure of bananas.

I both agree and disagree with you on this point :)

On one hand adding that new field is a good idea as it will provide more accurate information, but that would mean asking all of the thousands of current VJ members to go into their timelines and edit them. Not very likely to happen.

But, for the future users of VJ, say 1 year from now, if all of the new members start putting in the new data it will become useful.

So, I'd say, that they should add the new field in for the future use, but for now continue to calculate using the sent date, as it is most likely to be closest to an accurate estimate at this time.

Just my 2 cents.

Elaysa is asleep but I was up and wanted to comment on the latest development... AWESOME! It was very special for us to have the NOA2 approved while we were together, when the projected date had us both wondering when this process would move forward.

I wish the best to all of you, and although I don't post much, I read quite a bit here and love to hear the stories.

Hi Elaysaboy, you sent your package to TSC right? Was your package ever transfered to CSC? or processed at TSC? I am wondering what happened to those folks who applied at TSC and NSC.

All petitions sent to NSC & TSC since early this year have been forwarded to either VSC or CSC. Neither NSC or TSC have processed any I-129f's in quite some time.
