Waiting for a NOA2 from CSC for your I-129F?

You nailed it TB. It's not the slow processing that bothers me, it's the "processing in the order in which they are received" part that bothers me.

There are a million different reasons that could cause slow processing, and many of those would even be good reasons. Even with the additional manpower I know things are backed up, and even something simple like a fire drill could cause a processing delay. And let's not forget that USCIS are actually adhering to their 180 day commitment in the vast majority of cases. So as far as I'm concerned, slow processing gets a pass.

"Processing in the order in which they are received," however, does not get a pass. Slightly out of order, I can understand. But when there are July filers who still haven't been adjudicated, and then out of thin air they are approved at the same time September and October filers are being approved, well then that's inexcusable.

As I've said before, there is a problem with the leadership at the top. Unfortunately the director is a Presidential appointee, and as such is safe in his job through January. So all we can really do is continue to throw ourselves at the wall.

I guess the point is that we all pay the same fee, regardless of whether we live on the East Coast, Midwest, or West Coast, yet our processing times are drastically different and dependant on the state where we live. I'm not asking for a visa for my SO to enter Illinois, I'm asking for a visa for her to enter the US. Yet the time I have to wait depends on my state. If the backlog is untenable at the CSC, then files should be sent to VSC until such time as the adjudication equalizes and everyone gets the same deal.

Whoops -- I see now, and you're dead-nuts on. But, since when does common sense rule? I was told to mail my application to the Texas Service Center, which then sent it to California, costing me a week or more. In fairness (shared bitterness?) to VSC, VSC was even worse than CSC for several months until not long ago -- read some of the vitriolic posts on those threads! The hard pill to swallow is why there used to be four centers (NSC the other) processing I-129Fs and now there are only two, if indeed any "processing" is occurring.

The other unfair disparity is how long it takes APPROVED I-129Fs to reach the NVC from the CSC (a month, or until a crate is full), whereas the (geographically much closer) VSC gets the approved files there in well inside a week's time.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

It wouldn't take that long if they were filling up the boxes faster  I've got my rant out of the way for now. It's funny, if you go over to the Waiting for NOA2 from VSC thread, they're complaining how long its taking too. All things are relative I guess.

Si, man... but it's too bad that we can't marry our SOs sooner so that THEY can be relatives, too!

And rant whenever you feel like it -- these forums (fora?) keep us all from going cuckoo. Meanwhile, post some fotos (Spanish spelling) so that we can see Who Is Ranting and his assuredly lovely SO.

A funny thing happened on the way to the embassy........they sent only half of the info.........and instead of sending the other half down they had to send the other half up to be reassembled and send it back.......I guess that is why I have NO warm fuzzies or good feelings these days......The embassy in Lima has been great but they told me they could not accept an incomplete or 1/2 of a packet.......Luckily they called NVC and it was located quickily but it is yet another delay in this process from hell......It still has not left NVC for the second time.....I can not get an explaination as to why but it is still sitting.....at least complete now......in New Hampshire I hope not gathering dust again.......I call every day and they are all so nice but it is just a kinder version of USCIS to me at this point.....No info....no reason.....just check back in a couple of days......OMG I just want to choke something.........So you can see this is why I am in such a horrific mood

One of the reasons I really like this thread is that it doesn't tend to degenerate into a complete USCIS bashing thread. We tend to vent and then we move on, support one another, chat about whatever, and just generally try to keep things positive. We have so much to complain about, and yet we always seem to find ways to support each other in positive ways. So yeah, everyone should feel free to rant, knowing that there are people here who will not only sympathize with your plight, but will also turn that frown upside down. Or at least sideways. :D

Yo, Lora! I'm fine, thanks, si man, but haven't heard from the fiancee in 10 days (see posts, this thread, last few days). This is almost like not hearing from USCIS or NVC -- ha! And, hey -- get your VSC pals to post their experiences under the new "How to Shake Your NOA2 Loose" thread, si man?

One of the reasons I really like this thread is that it doesn't tend to degenerate into a complete USCIS bashing thread. [...]

Si, man, in spades. One of those VSC threads (which has since died down) was vitriolic, si man!

It really is refreshing and uplifting to read everyones posts. This process can really be a downer. Everyday I find myself marking off the calendar and wondering how much longer. Knowing that there are many that have been waiting since July or even longer is truly sad. The fact that they are not really approving them in order is really frustrating and really makes our timelines or estimates of approval invalid. It is also a real bummer that we are dependant on a large and bloated government agency that is very inefficient. Despite all of this I still believe that good things happan to good people and even though I have not been a very active participant in this forum I have read all of your posts every evening and I think my sanity has been preserved by all of you.

Mox, you have to be one of the most unselfish people here or anywhere. I hope your congressman will get an answer about the processing order. Actually I think that this is actually a good strategy to question CSC on. It may be a good subject for everyone to question there congressmen or women :) about. The manner in which they are approving them gives the appearance that they are very unorganized and that files are getting misplaced or whatever the case may be.

So once again A Big Thanks to everyone and lets not lose hope and may CSC awaken and all of us move to the next stage !

Oh Yes...I really miss my OLYA VERY MUCH !

Mox, you have to be one of the most unselfish people here or anywhere.

We are the Chorus, and we agree. We agree, we agree, we agree. Repeat after us: "SI, MAN!"

Not only is Mox an Aly-dubbed "Hono(u)rary July Filer," but he should also be installed as Crown Prince of VJ (until such time as he gets his NOA2 et al., and then he can be happily outta here). As a mere Colonist (si, man), I am sadly unqualified to promote, dub, or otherwise entitle anyone; nay, I am barely worthy of up-scooping the road-apples from Mox's knightly steed (neigh, man). Happily, however, there are many Brits on here who have studied centuries' worth of such matters (our ####### Old Dean... er, Dear Old Queen and all that). Who shall ascend the royal VJ throne and perform the anointment?

Or, if we wish to pursue a much easier yet less ceremonious Latin American course of action, we can perform a military coup and achieve the same end. Mox, which south-of-the-border country do you wish to claim? (I have dibs on Aruba, Ecuador, & Cancun, si man.)

There's a little apartment in a shoddy building in a remote city in Russia that only gets hot water a few hours a day, the bathrooms are communal, and the internet sucks. Crown me Czar of that little hovel and give me the hand of the woman who lives there, and we'll call it even. ;)
