I've already started putting together as much of the post-NOA2 stuff as I can. Gathering my taxes, filling out (but not dating) forms, etc. There's a lot of work involved, but I guess I'll take it over waiting and waiting and waiting...

Gratzies... er, gracias, si dude. As noted earlier, I had submitted a full I-134 WITH the I-129f, and I hope that it's still attached to whatever CSC et al. fumbled. I prepared a one-page "Notarized Addendum to I-134 Affidavit" in which I updated some of the financial disclosures, and I even had room at the bottom to retype the "I swear (or affirm)..." notary's section that appears on the original I-134. (I would still like to swear at CSC, si man, but this was the other swearing.)

Besides the salary letter from the employer, I included 3 recent pay-statements. This should be enough in view of my nondesire to enclose actual tax statements, si man?

I also prepared a contemporaneously dated "Fiance letter of intent" that said the same as the original I-129f letter did.

Dunno WHAT the dickens I would do without ("withoot," if in Canada) [1] youse guys, and the FAQs et al. on VJ. Si, man.

I think the UK gets considerably more holidays. I could be wrong though, and I can't be bothered to Wiki it.

About the affidavit - does that just have to be taken to the interview? It hasn't mentioned it in packet 3 so am I correct in assuming they spring that on you in packet 4 and hope you can get all the details in time for your interview?!?!?

If you're talking about the I-134, I forgot whether it needs to be sent ahead, but make sure that it's there at the interview. Also, be sure to provide the extra copies of everything (bank letters, etc.) that they ask for. And be CERTAIN to have the originals of everything -- letters, birth certificates, other -- in your fiance's hands at the interview! They may not be axxed for, but have them there ne'ertheless, si man.

According to the US Embassy in Moscow (your UK'ish mileage may vary) the Affidavit of Support is not a required document, but they may ask for it. That's almost a word-for-word quote. It's bizarre...if they ask for it and she doesn't have it, will they turn her away? And if so, doesn't that make it a required document? And if they ask for it and she doesn't have it but they process her anyway, does it even make sense to ask for it?

Anyway, all that to say...plan on bringing it with you.

See the 6th item down ("financial estability" [sic]); it does mention the I-134.

The I-134 is definitely a legal-type document that seems to be required, because the sponsor must swear/affirm that he/she is aware of the following:

"Oath or Affirmation of Sponsor: I acknowledge that I have read Part III of the Instructions, Sponsor and Alien Liability, and am aware of my responsibilities as a sponsor under the Social Security Act, as amended, and the Food Stamp Act, as amended."

(I wrote "Si, man" in the various blanks, and so did the Notary.)

Question: The Food Stamp Act sounds like something imposed upon us by the Queen Mother. Can we colonists revolt again, and throw various lobsterbacks into Boston Harbor, and afterwards have a spot of tea, si man?

I think there are some guidelines as to whether they'll ask for it or not, but I don't remember what they are. I'm always of the mindset to over-prepare (and it sounds like you are too) so I'm just going to provide it and not worry about figuring out if or why they'll ask for it.

And completely off-topic, let me just say how fortunate you should consider yourself that your future in-laws speak the same('ish) language. Thought I'd catch up a little on my Russian today, and I think I just sprained my mouth from trying to say too many consonants in a row.
