Ahh - just found them - they put their NOA2 as the 9th but they actually got approved yesterday - they were asking how to change their timeline :)

Are they the individuals that I mentioned above or are there other people too? As you can see, I'm getting completely a*al about all this!!!

Congrats to the approvals. Hopefully it's the start of all July filers being approved this week.

Did any of them mention whether they heard online or hard copy NOA2. Would be interesting to know whether the online updates are actually working.

I'm tempted to say something witty or sarcastic about 2 CSC approvals in one day, but mostly I just want it to keep happening, so I'm going to keep my mouth shut. *sigh*

I know what you mean, it's so slow it's almost laughable. But, I really think you had a good point about the case status not being updated recently. That's why it would be useful to know what the means of approval discovery is right now. Maybe, there's a flurry of approvals on the way.

I keep hoping that will be the case.

I say this rhetorically because I don't think anyone would argue the point, but ya know if they would just be more transparent about the process then it would really ease a lot of this anger and frustration over having to guess about what might be the problem. How hard would it be to just put something up on the USCIS website that says "There's a problem with case online status at CSC, so we're not updating it this week." Or "Our processing this week has slowed to a crawl because blah blah blah." And I would love to share this thought with the ombudsman, but lessee, I need to fill out a form and then snail mail it, oh but it's not really a problem with *my* case file per se, so...yeah, fuggedaboutit. Not even a decent feedback mechanism.

EDIT: To end the post on a positive note, the gorilla is still alive.

I repeat: They have fallen into the Specific Ocean, with your application specifically used as jetsam. You will receive separate RFEs for each element of the entire package, oh, let's see... once every week through Leap Year 2044 (this processing-information just appeared on the newly transparent CDC website).

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thanks mox...was gettin' worried about the gorilla! :) I agree with what you're saying..it's the same thing that all of us were saying back in May & June. Things go alright (slow) for a while, then come to an abrupt halt. Back in that time frame it seemed that VSC was non-existant and CSC was moving at a pace that a snail could easily beat on a bad day...with a broken shell! If they would just keep us informed, there wouldn't be as many angry/frustrated people.
