Since I have nothing else to do tonight, I just checked csis website for calif I-129F processing time. It has changed from April 29 to 6 months. I interpret that to mean anything past 6 months (i.e. prior to 6/29) is now outside normal processing times.

This is getting old.

Believe it or not, this is good news. It means that USCIS has caught up enough to catch back up to their target of 6 months.

You're right Jeraly and I'm VERY grateful for that cause I never seem to be able to figure it out on my own.Day before yesterday somebody got approved who was 110 on the list from 12/19,yesterday somebody who was number 50.......

God I'm SO ready to go home and be with my man!!!!! I miss him so much and the holidays were pure hell.

No family left in Germany,all freinds in the States and a kid that's going crazy cause he wants to go home to Daddy and see his new room at the new house......

This whole process is taking us forever,took us forever to get his divorce (even though they have been seperated long before we met in 12/2001 and we met 5/2005 and they have no kids.The ex was just being such a ++++ on this..).

Just frustrated and sad today I guess.

OHHHH MY GOODNESS!!!

you see, my heart is aching so much while waiting for my NOA2 and then being very jealous and envious of people getting approvals!!

up till this time, we dont have our NOA2, neither in mail, nor in the USCIS site. The site, by the way, still says its PENDING :crying:

when my fiance got home from work just like 15 minutes ago, he got a letter in his mailbox - ITS FROM THE NVC!!! It states there about our case approved with our Manila Case Number and that within a week, it will be forwarded to the USEM in Manila Philippines!!!

I can't believe this!!!! OH BOY OH BOY!! We never got our NOA2 but the NVC now is informing us that they have our papers!!!

I called again yesterday, using your prompts; got through to a guy: click, click, click......"you're file is in background checks."

"Why do you think ours is taking so long?"

click, click, click "Well, the US embassy is checking on her in Manilla and the FBI is checking on you in the US."

"Yeah, well that's what I was told last time I called. What can be taking so long? Are you sure our file is just not lost?"

click, click, click "Oh no, sir, it is not lost. It is in background checks."

"How much longer will this take?"

click, clic, click "I don't know, sir, it is in background checks. It may take 30 to 45 more days."

T, that is a summary of the call, but I did call. I thought I would give it another week and try again, I'll use your language when I call next Thursday.

Of course I got the 2 touches that probably were recorded because of my call.

Sadly, no other news.

We're hanging in.

Geez, John -- thanks for the update, yet what a bummer! The statement for them (to put them on the spot) is "Please send an e-mail to the floor (Division 9?) to shake it loose." Mine was in Background Check apparently for only a day, or at least less than a week. A call once per week will be most appropriate.

My Christmas was fine, thanks -- was flying on a puddle-jumper back from Del Rio, Tejas (the incipient respelling) to Houston after putting 1,200 miles on the rental car in 4 days. I should be able to begin writing the book about Tejas/Mexico border-crossings now!

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I believe that doing this now, in this way, will pay off. I'm proof, and I believe that this approach also finally worked for SSAH. Facts, dispassion, and calm reinforcement are the keys.

I'm certain it was my phone call that reminded the ImmOff working my case that it was actually still on his desk. Thanks again for those prompts, TBone! Now we just wait for it to get to NVC. John, I really hope things move for you in a day or two! I would keep calling them.

I saw the update with their processing times online too, which was supposedly updated 12/14 but actually went up a day or two ago. VSC usually says 6 months too, instead of a date.

Congrats, Lady Anne, on moving ahead in your process! It's good news. :)

Thought I'd throw a quick and dirty waiting list together, to tide us all over until StillThePrettiest returns from gallivanting around Germany. :) I only did a waiting list as opposed to the volumes StP usually provides, and it might be slightly different from the criteria StP uses, so consider it "unofficial." I used a cutoff date of May 1, 2007 (which I think is what she uses), and you might notice that unlike StP I'm using a Merckanized (American) date format.

Little analysis based on my own data: I moved up from position 166 to 130 since the last list came out 12 days ago. That's an average of 3 CSC approvals per day, a slow-down due almost certainly to the holiday period. Based on my own timeline, this still puts my estimated NOA2 about 10-12 days earlier than the VJ timeline predicts. Hopefully now that the bulk of July filers have been processed we'll see that difference widen.

Well, considering the waiting that we've all been through and are still going through, as well as the trials and tribulations of dealing with either CSC or VSC, next year will be the best for all of us! Congratulations to all who have received their visa's! And to the rest of us still waiting, may the New Year bring us speedy interview dates and visa's soon to follow!!! :thumbs:

Thanks to everyone on VJ for making this year more bearable. Your advice and support is appreciated more than you'll ever know. I'm very thankful for my friends here and wish everyone a:

K-1 Timeline:

May 31, 2007 - Mailed I-129F to Nebraska

Oct. 22, 2007 - NOA2 Hard Copy received!! No email/website update.

Nov. 16, 2007 - Paperwork found & received by NVC!

Jan. 7, 2008 - Finally got the interview date

Jan. 28, 2008 - Interview!! Approved!!!

Feb. 12, 2008 - Arrives in USA!!!

Feb. 18, 2008 - Wedding Day!!!!!!

Feb. 19, 2008 - Apply for SSN

AOS Timeline:

Mar. 12, 2008 - Packet mailed (AOS, EAD, & AP)

Mar. 12, 2008 - Husband's SSN arrives

Mar. 14, 2008 - AOS pkt was delivered at 7:52 AM & signed for by V BUSTAMANTE.

Mar. 18, 2008 - Check cashed!!

Mar. 21, 2008 - NOA's for AOS, EAD & I-131!! (Dated 3-18-08)

Mar. 31, 2008 - Can finally see AP & EAD online!!

Apr. 10, 2008 - Biometrics finished! Can finally see AOS online & EAD touch!

May 12, 2008 - Email: AP approved!!

May 14, 2008 - Email: EAD approved!!

May 16, 2008 - EAD card & AP in hand!!

Sept 19, 2008 - Interview letter - Oct. 24th - Seattle??

Oct. 21, 2008 - A Touch..WOW!! The interviewer must've put it on his/her desk!

Oct. 24, 2008 - Interview..now back to waiting!

Nov 13, 2008 - Approved! Card Production Ordered...finally!!

Nov 24, 2008 - Card arrives!!!!
