that would be how I'd see it too... in any case, 'go with where you sent it' is extremely bad advice in my case as we sent it to Vermont, and it was later transferred to Cali (as were any sent to Nebraska and Texas) - now if I KNOW it's being processed at CSC, what's the sense of putting Vermont on my timeline? just confuses everything ;)

Agreed, it makes much more sense to set your timeline to where your petition is *currently.*

News flash.....My SO got packet 3 from the embassy yesterday!!! YEA!!!:dance::dance: He can finally go to order his police certificate on Monday (in Japan you have to have paperwork from the embassy to order it) and will schedule his medical exam...I'm soo excited!! Finally, after all of the problems, we're going in the right direction! :)

Come on CSC & VSC...we need more approvals here!!

Congratulations :D:dance::dance::dance:

Sounds like a grand plan!! So when you coming out again?!

And u2rsobad - that was SUPER speedy!!! And with USPS being *so* good(!) as well!!! Sorry - am very bitter about my evidence taking six weeks to get to the US because they couldn't figure out how to deliver to the address I put on - even though it was the same as I always write it... Of course had it got there earlier I would now be a June filer and therefore would have been less likely to meet the wonderful July filers :)

I come out of where? :P I was looking for some reasonable connection to London before Xmas but couldn´t find anything nice to get back here :(

I am a June filer and met the wonderful July filers :dance::dance::D

The problem with using Nebraska or Texas as the center is very few people within the last six months have put them on there timeline. Most change it to CSC because that is where there case is. Now the problem with that is it only takes a few potations that took over a year to get there NOA2 to mess the numbers up like it is now. The worst case would be if listed as CSC rather then TSC is maybe add a few days for the forwarding to California. And maybe after Your NOA2 date is entered change the center back to Texas.. The date given on my timeline was there for me to have a date to look forward to and thats it.

Just my thoughts

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think I even read somewhere that later on the people who were supposed to file at TSC and NSC were then told to start filing at VSC...? So I think some TSC and NSC people are at CSC and the later ones are at VSC. Then it would really make sense to just say where the petition actually is and not where someone was supposed to file...

I got a great fare to Germany yesterday - £49.99 out, and £0.01p back

of course, once the fees and charges were added it more than doubled, but it's still a great deal, and now I get to visit friends and go to the Leipzig Christmas Markets :) :) :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Effective July 30, 2007 the states serviced by TCS were absorbed into VSC, and those serviced by NSC were absorbed into CSC. Petitions are no longer sent to the "middleman". Prior to that CSC actually serviced all petitions for CSC, TSC and NSC for about the last 2 years.

I agree that people should indicate the service center that is actually processing the petition rather than the service center where sent, if different from the processing center.

Taxes and fees! Gotta love 'em! Have a super time! I've always wanted to go to Germany. Maybe some day!

My state was serviced by TSC and then the petition was sent to CSC. I used to wish it had gone to VSC but now I see there are ones still waiting from there too. Anyway, its a whole new week - I have to believe approval is coming in the next 5 days!

haven't spoken German in ages though! I used to be so fluent, but on the phone I felt like I could hardly talk

Guys, I didn't see anyone quote my message of a couple of days ago that included what Cap'n Ewok said, which was to leave it WHERE YOU FILED IT (meaning TSC or NSC, if appropriate). I too agree that this is counterintuitive -- and, in fact, what with my having left "TSC" in my profile, MY timeline date went from January 24 (as of Friday night) to March 13 (today).

These wide swings from day to day are ridiculous, I agree. Is there a law against "drunken timelining"?

Someone else, perhaps clearer than I am, needs to write Cap'n Ewok and the other moderator(s) for a TECHNICAL answer and a consensus. Who volunteers?

T-Bone (oh -- in other news, no touches yet AGAIN, as later-filed petitions blow by unto NOA2s)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
