When it has come to generating gigantic gloomy gobs of grousing, no one touches moi as a nattering nabob of negativity, so you'll have to try much harder.

Seemingly unlike almost everyone else, my on-line case status never registers a "touch" when I call the USCIS Disservice Center. Given the July and post-moi-application-receipt June approvals, I begin to suspect more and more strongly that they have put my file somewhere and don't know where it is.

Also, my VJ "timeline" projected-approval date seems to vacillate daily between January 20 & 28, 2008. Someone had suggested changing my service center from TSC to CSC, and I did this briefly in mid-November, only to get an early-November timeline date (whoopee). I have since switched back to TSC as my place of filing. Question (I've axxed this before, but with no response): HOW CAN WE DEPEND ON TIMELINE DATES under such circumstances?

we can't depend on timeline dates at all; they're not there to be depended upon, but to give us a user-friendly method of checking current AVERAGE processing times

and I may not be understanding the process correctly, but I would imagine that having TSC as your place of filing isn't going to be helpful... you're not being processed there, even if you sent it there; VSC and CSC are the only places processing K visas now

(my 'not understanding the process' comment is simply because I don't know if it's been built in to the timeline algorithm to treat Texas and Nebraska as Vermont or Cali, as appropriate, or not )

True, and this is what I'm seeking to learn (where is a moderator when we need one?). One would think that the algorithms are NOT coordinated, given that my CSC date (in mid-November) was November 8 and my TSC dates have been no earlier than January 8 (now much later).

Can someone here "with connections" contact the appropriate moderator for an official reply? Gracias.

I don't know why you want to bother with TSC, as your file can't be there, but even if it's just a matter of understanding the process I'm in sympathy

I doubt the mods will know much about it - there are only two, and they tend to be for forum-related policework and similar - but you could post your question in the Site-Related Discussion section, and if you're lucky a friendly Ewok will be along presently to tell you everything you want to know
