Salamat, Tim, from both of us.

Maria is in Cebu, where is Maricar from?

Walang anuman. :) I am sure you will get your NOA2 on monday. She grew up in Muntinlupa City. When you come to Manila I will help you with your bet. We can eat balut together. I also really want to see Cebu.

Hi all!

I just wanted to let everybody know that we've been approved as of November 2nd. I checked the USCIS site just now and it says approved. There's no email yet, but maybe that will come later. It's a long journey and I hope CSC and VSC kick it into high gear and approve everybody! GO CSC!!! GO VSC!!!

Jeraly:

I made an excel worksheet to calculate the day Maria will come home. Our sent date was 6/8, received date 6/18. My worksheet points to 11/05 for noa2, an interview date of 2/8 and an exit date (from the Philippines) of 2/15. Each day that our noa2 goes beyond the average noa2 date (as calculated by vj) our interview and exit dates are pushed back by that same day.

I don't know if I explained that very well, but I hope this is useful information. But I must add that those are our calculations. We had originally hoped Maria would come home for Christmas, but now we are thinking that we will be together on Valentine's day. However I admit we're not confident enough in the system to set any dates in stone.

I'll be grateful for that day to come, whenever that is.

Ramzis, with his stoic attitude and his ever patience, has been an example for all of us.

Also: If, as some people think, the backlog caused by the other visas is now gone, then I believe the time to noa2 (and vj's averages) will go down for people who have filed after us. Right now vj's average noa1 to noa2 for calif is 130, while our actual number is 149. Tomorrow it is 150, my calculated noa2 date. At some point, that number should start to go down for subsequent filers, but it will take longer to go down than it took to come up (when we filed, I think the average noa1 to noa2 was 72 days).

Noa2 to interview has not changed significantly (in fact it has gone down recently for us), but I think that may have been caused by the backlog in the first phase. By that I mean the following: Because the service centers were not sending as many foreign applications to to nvc, the embassies had fewer interviews to do, consequently the average from nvc to interview went down. When the flow from nvc starts to go back up (as we are beginning to see with the increase in noa2's) then nvc to interview will begin to take longer as well.

Historically, I suspect that june filers' timelines will be the longest for all filers and will subsequent timelines will SLOWLY return to pre-june averages.

My comments are just my ideas. I do not have any experience with this, and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Anyhow, good luck to you, good luck to all of us.

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.
