We called CSC today, we told them almost everyone else in our time frame already got approved. And then they said it is approved in the order it is recieved and there are people dedicated to different areas of the u.s., so it depends where the other filers live and when they sent it. <_< Also they said since it says it was touched it is at an officer's desk. Well, I hope they won't be keeping my case for long.. I really want my NOA2 PLEASE!! :(

Hi everyone. I just signed up, but I've been a lurker for the past 5 months or so. I check the USCIS website daily, and nothing has changed in my account since 6/22. So I decided to give the old RFE trick a try today. To my surprise the guy told me that I was approved today! It is kind of strange that the status has not been changed on the USCIS website yet. The customer service guy told me that it was because I was just approved today and I should receive my notice in 1-2 weeks. At least they're moving along with June filers. I wish you all luck!

A couple of thoughts/observations......first, there is nothing 'iron-clad' with respect to the touches. Some get one or more touches just before being approved; some right after being approved; and some get none, right up to the date of approval action. While it sure is exciting to see a touch; there is much to their internal processing system and procedure that maybe we will never understand.

I, too, have not had a single touch since it went to the CSC and I am now at day 138 since NOA-1 issued. I have resisted calling, because I am not convinced it is productive unless most filers, in your respective time frame, have already been approved previous to you.

Next, I figured today would be a slow 'news-day' due to the quasi-holiday and the preverbal office luncheons and parties and employees leaving work early to go to more parties and/or to prep the kids for tonight's festivities. Hey, people are people, be it in government or the private sector.

Last, IMO, for those of you worrying about an RFE......don't worry a lot!!! Very few RFE's are issued this late in the process. Most come soon after the initial I-130 and/or I-129F is sent in and that important first content review and document scan takes place at the front door, so to speak. It is not common to see the RFE this close to NOA-2.......if there is to be a surprise, you will most likely get it during the interview at the Consulate or Embassy. This is also why the "approval" we all speak to at this stage, is really in name only. Remember, everyone of that 10 to 20 % who get blue or white slipped at the interview, were each approved at the NOA-2 stage. And yes, at least we are seeing some very notable movement with the June filers !!! The next week to ten days will bring many more June NOA-2's.

Other item: An immigration attorney to whom I'd spoken recommended that I send in the I-134 (or whatever the "financial support" package is) along with the original I-129F. I did this. Two questions: [1] Could this be slowing down the processing of my I-129F? [2] Will I have to resubmit a fresh I-134 package during the next step of the paperwork process, or can I simply send a notarized affidavit to say that the finances are materially the same as they were in May?

I don't know for sure so sorry in advance for answering. I also sent mine with the I-134 and mine seems to be taking longer too. I have gotten touched Every day since Friday and suspect it is the affidavit of support slowing things down. My roommate that submitted his at the same time I did was approved on the 18th and the only difference between our petitions is I sent mine with the I-134 and he didn't. After I had already sent my packet I read on VJ that it isn't recommended to submit it this early in the process.

Thanks, Tim, and thanks to the others who have replied. If it's true that the I-134 slows things down, there are two lessons: [1] Avoid sending unnecessary material that will confuse morons, and [2] 99% of all attorneys give the rest of them a bad name!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
