First of all, this is the only section we have to finish. We have consulted a lawyer, unfortunately this lawyer did not help us at all with this doubt we have. And hopefully we'll find some answers here. So let's get started: ON the Form DS-260 asks us about work history over the past 10 years. My husband has worked in the construction field for these ten years and has had a variety of projects. Some projects were owned by private companies and others by large companies that he remembers. The question we have is: How do you refer to the number and address of a company that no longer exists (or that you no longer remember) on the DS-260 application? I hope this makes some sense to you. We are at this point very desperate. and we have no other option since lawyers are very expensive.

You do the best you can.

I have copies of all of my W-2s going back to my teen years.  They had my employers' full address on them.  Even if that employer doesn't exist any more I can use the addresses on the W-2.  (I didn't need it for a DS-260...I work for a contractor that does government work, and they needed all of the information for my background checks.)

The Internet is your friend.  Even if a company no longer exists, some part of them may still be found on Google.  Track down what you can.

For a given entry put as much information as you can.  You might have to put "don't know" or "don't remember" for a street address, and you might have to put all 9s or 0s for a phone number.  But make an effort to put in as much information as you can.  You want to give the reader the impression that you would have given them every bit of information they asked for if you could find it...not that you didn't make any effort to go and track down a given employer.

1st most attorney offices only fill out and mail the petition

the work load is on u,  the petitioner

and ds 260 is for the bene to fill out /  a US lawyer would not be able to meet with bene to learn the facts

Bene work history is not as important as the petitioner unless the bene worked in a country other than his own but they will appreciate all u can remember as there would be no W2

u can use additional paper to list as best as u can

Remember u do not have to list the project place/its the company's fiscal address -usually billing office

I had a facebook message from a Moroccan who had heard the embassy sent 3rd packet to home address(they use to a decade ago) and he lost his house in the earthquake
