Interview letter: email or physical mail?

Hi all,

Currently awaiting a visa interview for London embassy but it is taking longer than expected (almost on week 4 of waiting).

I'm worried I've missed a letter but my CEAC account still says 'at NVC'.

I am expecting an email but should I be expecting a physical letter?

Thanks!

Your notification will come by e-mail.

After you become documentarily qualified, an interview isn't instantaneous.  London doesn't have a long wait, but I don't recall people receiving letters in less than a month of late.

Ah okay, thanks! I'd seen a few people get them very quickly but maybe they have been odd cases. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it :)

You're dealing with a government entity...they work at the speed of sloth most of the time ;)

As above, it's an email. How long you have to wait will depend on when you were DQ'ed, as IL's only go out once a month - so if you were DQ'ed just before the cut off for that month, you may only have a few days of wait before the IL pops in to your inbox, but if you were DQ'ed just after the previous month's cut off, it'll be a month or so before you get it.

It sounds like you just missed last month's cut off. I'm not sure IL's have gone out for this month yet, so hopefully in the next few days you'll get it, although it is odd that your CEAC status still says it's at NVC. What does your non CEAC status say, does it say it's in transit?

Hello,

Ah perfect, I was tryin to find info on when ILs were sent out and was unsure if it was embassy dependent. Yeah I think we JUST missed the cut off.

I've only been checking CEAC, I wasn't aware there was somewhere else to check so will definitely look into that.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you!

I always found CEAC pretty useless, although maybe it's better for spousal apps. Try this instead - https://egov.uscis.gov
