Hello folks,

As the title suggests, I have been waiting for my consulate interview to be scheduled since Feb 2022. My priority date is Dec 2015. I have since moved to the US for work. I will be in the US for a while. I have a couple of questions:

  • When my priority date becomes current, I will request the file to be transferred from Canada to the US. Is the form that needs to be filed is I-485?
  • How long will that take?
  • Will I be subject to retrogression?
  • What other factors would delay my process since I am not in Canada anymore?

Thank you for your input.

You want to adjust status in the US, then you can file an I 485 once your PD for adjustment is current.

Yes and depends which category you are in.
