OK...I'm not a huge meat eater...but since I met my man I have eaten pheasant, deer, and a lot of buffalo. The buffalo is good....the pheasant well it is such a pretty bird, I hated to eat it...but I did and it wasn't bad. The deer well-----I love deer running through the fields....so if it is spiced up to the max and I pretend it came from the grocery store I can eat it in chili.

I honestly haven't found much difference between the meats (chicken/beef) here than I did at home. I really don't eat much of either here or there!!

But I love my American man and he loves me. He is a farmer and in no way could I see us moving to Canada. Its so close anyways.

Hope everyone is having a super day!!!

ya, why does all milk in the states smell like it's sour!?

I'm not the only one!!!!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

But canada doesnt have my husband or yoohoos

What is a yoohoo?

A YooHoo is a choclate drink found in most convenience stores. My daughter adores them. When you buy one, you generally have to shake it up as most of the chocolate is on the bottom. But oh my....is it ever so good!

Is there any particular type that doesn't though????

Well because different parts of the country get different brands of milk, I don't know if I could point one out for you. Here, we buy America's Choice milk because it is the cheapest and I think it has an alright taste. I've had a couple occourances though with milk not tasting right. I miss getting my milk in bags :( My husband had never seen that until he first was with me in Canada years ago. He thought milk in bags was so funny.

And I dont know if GA was talking about YooHoo the drink. I think she may be talking about the tasty cake yoohoo that is chocolate with creme on the inside.

to me, Yoohoo tastes like watered down chocolate milk. Yuck!

And I agree with the milk thing. I hate the milk here. it sours within a day. I'm always pouring it out after a day and my hubby just looks at me and rolls his eyes and says the milk is fine! he just bought it.

I thought it was just me, or the heat down there with the milk.

I tried ordering milk when we go out and I can't stand it. The JUG *rme* of milk goes bad, like someone said within a day or two. The only milk I do drink down there is the non'fat in the little plastic bottle. Tastes more like 2% to me, but at least I'm getting some.

I've taken to putting ice in my milk...it does water it down a bit but it sure does make it more palatable, for me anyway. Maybe it's not the heat...maybe it's those hormonally pumped up cows that give the milk that make it taste so funny. A friend of mine has goats that she milks. Fresh milk like that is unbelievable! I know some probably go "EWWWWWWWWW" at the thought of goat's milk but it's really pretty good over ice. Even with the watering down of the ice it still tastes better than any milk from the supermarket. At least to me it does. :)

I don't consume any dairy or dairy products but even if I did, I certainly wouldn't be consuming any here.

:( gross!

It did say though the canadian study says even if it were legal in canada, it's not harmful to humans?

I think it's a grey area really. You don't really know unless you test on people right? And you wouldn't really be able to tell unless it's a long clinical trial which I don't think they did. As for other reports, I would not trust any report that came from Monsanto.

Anyway, rent The Corporation as they go into some of the health concerns surrounding rBGH. And can I just say the filmmakers are Canadian. :)
