So we (my wife IR1 visa case) recently got DQ'd and her case was expedited to the US Embassy at Bogota Colombia (we're talking about days here) for further processing. NVC told us the Embassy would be getting in contact with us shortly how should we take this?... should she go ahead and make the preparation for the medical exams? does this means they already have a potential interview date or should I wait further information / contact from the embassy themselves? Do they contact us directly through email? or the NVC does this? What's next? I've seen other cases being processed faster than ours, but in other countries, I understand every embassy is different... is how's your experience been with Bogota?

How were you notified that you were DQ'd? Do you know the reason why she was DQ'd? If she was DQ'd, what is the reason for the medical exam? I am about to change the visa type and would like to know how everything has gone for you (timeline?). My wife is Colombian.

Thank you.

DQ means Documentary Qualified i.e. the NVC processing side of things (fees paid, documents submitted) is complete and it's being passed over the consulate for an interview to be scheduled.

So I was browsing around while keeping in waiting for the IL or notice, I this site it says that I need to register https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/BGT-Bogota.html#pre_interview_checklist

some sort of appointment, when I go access the website I get a couple of choices but they all seem related to have received some sort of notice from the consulate or Embassy (I assume the IL)? and the last option says None of the above, should I proceed with this? or am I going to fast here?

So, I'm asking this because it says it over here, should be done before the interview.. but it doesn't specifies.. if I do this before getting the interview notice or anything... Just says I must do it before the interview... so that throws me off...
